5.0 out of 5 stars Quality product for the price
Keeping in mind that this wireless mic is one of the lower priced wireless mics/headsets out there, it is an excellent product.

3.0 out of 5 stars Wireless Microphone.....
I was going to rate this with 4 stars due to the clarity, but when it fell with only a couple of feet of distance, the receiver broke. The device is cheaply made and would reconsider buying this product. I'm in the market of looking for better one without paying an arm and a leg. Best Buy sells a similar product, but just as cheaply made and cost more.

Keeping in mind that this wireless mic is one of the lower priced wireless mics/headsets out there, it is an excellent product.
With a sea of incredibly cheap electronics out there, I was expecting something much cheaper quality wise; from the construction of the product, the fitment & quality of the headset, how clear the instructions were, and most importantly, the performance of the product. The review about it breaking easily...I don't know that this thing endured in her case, but this doesn't appear to be fragile or poorly made at all. That said, it's not designed to be a toy for young 'uns. I have to say that this thing is very well made considering the price. The instructions are clear & well written (translated). It's a straight forward plug & play operation. The headset fits well, however a little snug for my big adult melonhead. It will be perfect for my 12 year old daughter who will inherit this when I'm done with it for my one-time use at a meeting.

The transmission/reception range is excellent.

The only complaint that I have is that there is some hiss when in the mic 'on' mode, regardless of the proximity to the receiver. My guess is that the hiss is inherent to this particular item. I don't believe that the hiss came from outside interference, but that's a possibility. I imagine that this hiss would be eliminated with more sophisticated circuitry, but that would surely come at a considerably higher price. For a <$25 wireless mic, something a bit less than crystal clear transmission should be expected. The hiss may be considered excessive for solo singing, however if this is used for meetings, speaking engagements or seminars, it's acceptable.

It also operates on a fixed frequency, so two of the same products can't be used at the same time, unless 'shared broadcasting' is desired, like two speakers on the same subject at a speaking engagement, for instance.

All in all, a well made product that performs adequately for the price.

Product was as advertised and performed beyond expectations. Daughter is a Zumba instructor running her own business and needed a headset/microphone setup to talk to her clients while conducting the class and this unit filled the bill admirably.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great performance in a small package., February 11, 2010

I initially bought this headset for the price. It had decent reviews, so it wasn't a difficult decision to buy it. I planned on using it in an aerobics type class for tennis players. My biggest concern was the sound and range. Like I said, I'd be on a tennis court running around, and I needed to have something loud, easy to hear, and fully functioning if I'm far away. To my surprise, I set up my system on court one, and decided to walk down to court four to hear it's range. It came in perfectly with no delay. One review said it would work up to 40 to 50 feet. Court one to court four is over 200 feet away!

I only gave this product a 4 out of 5 star rating because the neck collar is a bit uncomfortable with prolonged use. Plus, the range is only made possible by extending the wire antenna.

For $20 dollars this is an ok product, but it is NOT designed for adults. If you are expecting to use this during any kind of presentation, don't bother. The headset is 1/2 the size it needs to be for adults. It should fit kids just find however, perhaps 11 or under.

4.0 out of 5 stars Wireless Microphone headset, August 15, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Singing Machine SMM-112 Karaoke Wireless Headset Microphone (BLack) (Electronics)
Works great, even through two walls it worked. The headset itself is the only complaint. I think it is designed more for children. It is very small barely fits over my head. There is no adjustment...just bending plastic. Seems rather fragile. If the manufacturer were to make the head band better, it could easily sell for double its price or more. Then it would get five stars.

5.0 out of 5 stars Singing Machine Mic, July 29, 2010

Arrived very fast. Purchased only for the headset. Price is excellent compare to the many head sets I've purchased over the years. Used for group various group exercise classes in smaller studios projecting to approx. 45 people. I purchased multiple head sets for myself and several instructors to replace older headsets (since we do not share mics). The projection Sound quality is good on each and they are sturdy and comfortable so far, after daily use for about a month.

3.0 out of 5 stars First experiment with wireless, July 27, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Singing Machine SMM-112 Karaoke Wireless Headset Microphone (BLack) (Electronics)
This unit is the least expensive way to begin experimenting wireless vocal. It is a fairly good unit for the price. I didn't encounter any loss of signal within the distance range.
I would like to see the following improvements, (of cause with increase in cost which may be worth it.:
1. The wire on the receiver that act as an antenna should be replaced with a built-in extendable/retrackable metal antenna that will be facing upward reather than downward as with the wire. The wire will eventually break off and render the unit useless.
2. The headset microphone should be much smaller. The present piece covers the whole mouth.

With these two changes will greatly improve the unit
