Tech Talk

CDG: An acronym for Compact Disc plus Graphics, this is a regular CD with information stored on a data track simultaneous to music. In laymen's terms, CDG has a video output for simple graphics (not full motion video). In the case of karaoke, the graphics function is used to store song lyrics, and display the lyrics in synch with the music. In most cases, CDG software displays lyrics, which change color as they are to be sung. A regular television is all that is required to display CDG lyrics.

Echo: Produced by creating minor controlled feedback in the singer's voice, echo adds depth and resonance. The echo function does not affect the music.

Auto Voice Control (AVC): This useful function is used primarily during practice sessions while a singer is learning a song. Please note that the AVC function only works with multiplex recordings and not with standard audio recordings.

Multiplex: A Multiplex allows you to separate the vocals and music by using the balance control on your Singing Machine Karaoke System.

I purchased this product just prior to the Super Bowl, and the first time I used it was at the pre Super Bowl party that my wife and I hosted. I had 25 people over 40 rockin with this Karaoke Machine so my personal experience was positive. With all that being said I would reccomend this item. you dont have to be a kid to have fun with this.

I bought this for my wife for her birthday from another E-tailer. They said it would take 6 to 8 weeks to ship as it's just starting to become available. Six weeks later I get an email that it's been delayed another month. OK I decided it'll be worth the wait. Three weeks later I get a notice that it's been canceled and this e-tailer won't have it available.

I now had to scramble to get another order placed. I googled the model number and did some searching. Everyone was sold out except Amazon so I placed the order. We've now had it for 2 months and it's the hit of our house parties with our friends. They all expect the machine to come out sometime during the party.

We have a lesser SoundMachine model that we got as a Christmas gift but all that would do is skip and make the words unreadable if it wasn't exactly level or jostled. If people are dancing it can be shaken a little and that's all it needed to have problems.

This model is great. You can get hopping and it doesn't skip a beat. The detatchable speakers are a nice touch to fill up the party area evenly with music. The built in camera is fun but make sure you stay in a spotlight if you want a good quality image as it doesn't pick up images in a low light environment. Overall, a fun product for house parties.

Were were very excited about getting our own karaoke machine for my daughter and her desire to sing, however this system for what it cost was a huge disappointment. There is limited assembly of the base of the speakers required, but the screws were cheap and broke when we put it together (with hand tools). The holes were not properly aligned. The primarily plastic construction seemed cheap.

Once working, it appeared to have pretty decent sound, however it wasn't long after we started using it when the screen froze up and the music wouldn't play. If we unplugged and plugged it back it it would for a few songs then freeze up again. Sometimes the machine would not respond to pressing the buttons that forward to the next song or stop the current song. One other item, the system came with two wired mics instead of 1 wired and 1 wireless.

We could have lived with the construction but, given the freeze ups - which basically made the product unusable, we decided to send it back for a refund.

SO far the seller response has been good. The product was shipped and received within the timeframe promised. It arrived in good condition. When we sent an email about our situation and our desire to return the product, they responded very quickly with the UPS shipping label which covered the return shipping. It has only been 2 days so we still are waiting to see if the product makes it back and we get our refund.

For the price, there has to be better stuff out there!

We bought this machine over 1 year ago. We put it out on the deck at our Italian Ice shoppe on Oak Island. Our customers love it. During the day, we play the FM radio to have some music on the deck, then in the evening, the families start singing with it.

Pros:
1. Very easy to use.
2. Very durable. It is outside and while we bring it inside when we are closed or when it is raining, it has lasted for one year and it is going strong for a second season.
3. Not expensive and if it dies, we will just replace it with another one.
4. Lots of fun.

Cons:
1. Kinda cheap, but we love it.
2. Screen is a little hard to read. We are going to hook up a TV for the folks to see the words better
3. Analog FM tuner. It does not lock on the weaker stations very well.

Oh yea, did I mention we love it?

My children received this for Christmas yesterday and are thrilled with it - with one reservation. They NEED the lyrics and the top and bottom lines on many of the songs are cut off at the top and bottom of the screen. I wish I knew if all the models do this. It makes what could be a fun toy a non-starter.

I purchased this item before Christmas and it was out of stock and was told I would receive it when it was in stock. Then I received it 12/23 before Christmas which is not what was supposed to happen until 12/27-29. It was the older model with a black and white monitor and 2 wired microphones, not as described at all. Then I was sent a replacement the next day after I went on line and asked for a replacement, but it was wrong also, older model, not as described. It was supposed to have a color monitor and 1 wired and 1 wireless microphone. I refused delivery of one today as it wasn't in a cardboard box and I could see it was the wrong one just like the one I have setting in the hallway waiting for UPS to pick up. I want a refund on this as now they are out of stock again which is probably why I got the older ones to begin with. I am very disappointed I couldn't get the one I wanted and probably won't from Amazon as it has the same model number as the older model.
Can't sing now.
