This review is from: Singing: The Physical Nature of the Vocal Organ. A Guide to the Unlocking of the Singing Voice (Hardcover)
I have read this book and am still studying it. It has good information for serious students of singing.

However, one will not get the information on a casual read through. This book needs to be rewritten in plain, clear, common English. It needs to be reorganized so that the progression of ideas is clear.

The authors use obscure terms that are not defined until somewhere in the middle or end of the book, or at all. The authors are used to addressing a close-knit audience who may immediately know what they mean by "inspanning," innervated,"
and "phonasthenia." If one is not part of "the group," one has to have a dictionary to read it and even that will not help at times. One has to work to understand what is being said. That is not a good thing if you want to influence others.

I am in the process of outlining the book to help me master the key concepts. That is because I am highly interested in the topic.

Also, the book promises to address issues, but I don't feel that they really succeed.

The purpose of the accompanying cassette is to illustrate what is discussed in the book, but I am not sure it does.

I will continue to study what is being said and may return to write an update.
