Book Description

April 30, 2007
Katy Breyer lives with her father in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada Mountains. Her young life is happy and secure until her estranged mother takes custody of her and moves her to a city hundreds of miles away. For the next five years, she endures the neglect of her mother and the indifference of her stepfather. Her only happiness is in the care and friendship she receives from the servants who work in her stepfather’s mansion. After a tragic accident claims the life of her mother and stepfather, Katy is reunited with her uncle who takes her to live with his family. She finally has the home and family she longs for but the unexpected friendship of a Maidu Indian boy will test her faith in God and force her to make a decision that will change her life forever.

Linda has shown a true talent for Christian Romanace. Although not a Christian I loved this book. The story was every inspiring and touching. The ability to write and include religion in a great talent.

5.0 out of 5 stars Singing Winds - A Great Read, June 15, 2007
This review is from: Singing Winds (Paperback)
Singing Winds does more than remind us of a simpler time; the author immerses the reader in that time. Her descriptive voice and dialog make you feel you are a part of the story, becoming so familiar with the characters that you can't help but fall in love with them.

When Jack and Madeline bring Jack's niece Katy into the family she is an instant fit, this is something that both sides feel. Katy feels the love and belonging she never felt with her own mother and step-father; and by bringing her to his family Jack fulfills a promise to his deceased brother. Katy's main discomfort though comes from her feelings about Jesse, Jack's adopted Native American son. Jesse's feelings for Katy come to light and bring you into the heart of a love so pure, you can't help but feel each emotion as the characters are feeling them for themselves.

Singing Winds is a must for any romance aficionado. Linda Strawn's easy style makes this book a great summer read. This should be packed in your beach bag.
