Book Description

Good girl Anna Maloy has always been drawn to the wrong kind of guy—and if anybody fit that definition, it was Drew Whitman: her boyfriend’s best friend.

So when Anna breaks things off with her boyfriend of seven years, her newly minted ex does the logical thing: He asks Drew to keep an eye on her.

Drew Whitman has never understood the hype about monogamy. He’s never even been tempted. Well, maybe, just that once—but as a loyal best friend, he’s chosen to forget all about that past and enjoy a life of self-indulgence and instant gratification.

Until he’s practically forced into her life, that is. He does his best to ignore—well, everything about Anna Maloy, as he’s done the last seven years. But the more time he spends with her, the harder it gets—especially when she’s the one crossing the line.

5.0 out of 5 stars Refreshing & Romantic September 12, 2013

I loved this book. Anna and Drew's relationship from start to finish was thoroughly thought out and explained. I felt the development of the story as a whole was to the point with much description without going overboard. The author did a wonderful job of pacing and creating refreshingly new and exciting scenes/encounters with Anna and Drew. I definitely recommend you read this if you are a fan of Rachel Gibson. Funny, light, fast-paced without being too fast, romantic and a bit sexy sums this read up for me. Not to mention fabulous!

4.0 out of 5 stars Sweet story but needs more drama November 10, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
It was a really sweet a fun book. I really like the characters but I wish there was a little more drama. The story had all the makings for a big blow up between Drew and Jeff or Drew and Jonathan and I was waiting on it and it never came. I would have given it 5 stars but I felt the ending was a let down I was waiting on that big romantic gesture by both Anna and Drew but it never came.

3.0 out of 5 stars Friends with benefits and complications. September 2, 2014
Format:Kindle Edition
Anna's unhappy with her current long term, long distance relationship of 6 years and decides to break up with Jeff the night he proposes. Jeff still cares about Anna and asks his best friend Drew to check up on her... and they embark on a platonic friendship, which eventually turns into a friends with benefits arrangement. The chemistry's there, but we also learn that Drew's a commitment-phobe who only does one night stands, no relationships and Anna's a relationship kind of girl even though she's not ready for another one quite yet. Drew also never mentions to Jeff that there's more to his friendship with Anna than just checking up on her either.

This is a typical story with an awful ending. where the H and h form feelings for each other but don't bother communicating them; where they don't know how to say I love you - and NEVER do (I hate that); where in a convoluted climax, both Anna and Drew are willing to walk away from each other just to save the friendship between Jeff and Drew (HUH?); where he makes a public plea to meet her and she doesn't go (interesting); and where 3 MONTHS (what?) pass before running into each other in Chicago where she's doing a gallery showing and coincidentally they find each other again??

This book was also fraught with typos and wrong word choice (e.g. "conscious" when it should be "conscience" and the ending was so rushed, I didn't realize it was the end. This also needed an epilogue.

5.0 out of 5 stars He only had to keep an eye on her. . . September 4, 2013

Anna broke up with her boyfriend Jeff and Jeff asks his best friend to watch out
for her. Simple, right? But what if the best friend harbored secret feelings
for said ex-girlfriend? And what if said ex-girlfriend wanted just a friends
with benefits? Anna knows that Drew doesn't do relationships. . .but what if
things went really right? Must read! Adults 18+ only for steamy scenes.

This was such a sweet novel.... it makes u believe in love. Anna was a strong character although she gets misty eyes for everything. Whitman was a lonely person. They suited each other perfectly.
