The belt itself is good but there are no instructions anywhere including the owners manual how to change the belt on the 71b. Luckily my husband figured it out, there is a hidden screw under a plastic plug that has to be forcibly removed from the front under side of the 71b, it is not easy, you basically have to destroy the plug very carefully to remove it without destroying the plastic frame. I will not buy this same 71b vac, the vac works good but no belt should be this hard to change.

Just what I was looking for. Product arrived on time and was packaged quite nicely.

Good to have on hand. The Eureka 71 is a GREAT vacuum, however sooner or later you WILL need this part.

Ordered this belt as a spare in case the original one broke. That hasn't happened yet, and I've got three cats to clean up hair after. I use the vac on all my furniture, on my bedspread and comforter, on my dining room chairs, on the piano bench, my office chair, the carpet behind my recliner and, etc., and the original hasn't worn out yet! Needless to say, I'm impressed, but when the original belt does wear out, by golly I'm prepared! And the repacement belt was cheap and showed up in my mailbox! How easy is that?

According to Eureka support line, the belt of the 71b is basically impossible to replace. I've tried it. They suggest to take it to a service center.

At the time we bought our Eureka vacumm, i decided to buy this belt to keep on hand as a spare. Haven't had to use it, but delivery was prompt. So fast in fact, it may not be necessary to buy it until you need it.

I bought this as part of a package deal for my new Eureka Hand-Held Vacuum, 71B. I hope I never need it but when the belt breaks and you don't have a spare the vacuuming never gets done. Good price as part of the package with the Eureka Hand-Held Vacuum, 71B and a filter, all for under $50.

Recently, I purchased a Eureka handheld vacuum cleaner. As a precaution against future trouble, I also ordered a spare belt (Part # 60957) which I have not yet had to use, since the belt supplied with the cleaner is functioning perfectly. When the spare belt arrived in the mail I was struck by the sheer elegance of the packaging ( a small transparent plastic bag which allowed me a perfect view of the item inside), but, more to the point, of the beauty of the belt itself. It is a delicate circle of black rubber, the inner surface cunningly formed to align itself precisely with the drive gear of the vacuum cleaner. The design couldn't be better; the epitome of simplicity, refinement and functionality. A veritable nonpareil among sweeper belts. I can only look forward to the day when I will have the unparalleled pleasure of dismantling my cleaner and installing this preciouos ring of elasticity. I quiver in expectation.

Gave it a five star even though it was the wrong belt, I ordered it by mistake. Not the belt's fault.

I feel kinda cheesy reviewing this, but I did buy from Amazon for my new vacuum purchased from Amazon- I lucky haven't had to use it yet, as my current Eureka bag less vacuum continues to work great and no problems with the belt- I am a firm believer of keeping a spare belt on hand though, and I am sure it will work fine with I need to use- Its strong material, and shipping was great as usual!
