There are some fantastic books out there to tell you HOW to find someone to marry and give great advice on dating, but some people need a book about living as a single person. Let's face it, we won't all get married because it isn't in God's will. However, that doesn't mean we don't want to. This means all of those other well-intentioned "how-to" books don't apply to our lives. Single and Content does! It can be very difficult being single - almost to the point of feeling isolated. Sometimes it's too upsetting to read "how to find the mate you want" or worse yet, "how to prepare you and your mate for a happy marriage." This book is the cure. You no longer feel alone. You see your boat filling up with people like you. But most importantly, you laugh at something which sometimes makes you cry - being single.

Single and Content is an AWESOME book, and I encourage every Christian who is not part of a dating relationship to read it. All of the authors (Dana Anders, Nathan Clement, Chris Conti, and Lana Trent) share their experiences... from roommates to staying healthy, and broken relationships to abstinence. Many of their stories are humorous, and readers will be able to relate to most of them. Not only do they share THEIR stories, they have also interviewed Christian arists, authors, and speakers.Throughout the book there are surveys, showing how other singles in the country feel about the topic. Make sure to buy a copy, or at least borrow a copy from the library. You won't regret it.

I've had the opportunity to meet and interview the four writers of this book, after I read the book. It relates to 'taboo' issues and spiritualness, using interviews with single christian artists. It hit upon many issues singles face...after reading it you will not feel quite so alone! It is a great quick read!

This book helped me so much! It made me realize that there are actually A LOT of cool things about being single. I don't feel like I HAVE to be with somebody anymore. I just want to enjoy this time "alone" while I have it! Please read this book if you are a single individual who needs encouragement. It was just what I needed.

This book is an excellent overall look into the Christian single's life. The 4 authors honestly talk about the highs and lows of being single in today's culture, and how we as Christians can do it joyfully! I know I couldn't put the book down when I read it, and I have already loaned it to two friends. It's worth considering for the just out of college single who is trying to find out how he or she fits in this next phase of life, as well as for the veteran single who wants encouragement that he or she is not alone! 5 stars!!

I enjoyed the book! Lana and the others did a great job of capturing what it means to be single today. They did not gloss over their frustrations, but stated them and shared what they had learned from them. Reading their thoughts helps other singles realize they are not alone in how they feel.

This book offers a practical and Godly view of singleness. Rather than taking the "how to find a mate" approach, the authors open up all of the glorious possibilities of singlehood. Most notably, they do not give a prescribed outline for living the Christian life, but instead offer principles for guidance. The interviews make the book more readable. I laughed out loud. Single and Content is similar to books by Elisabeth Elliot and Joshua Harris, though not as radical.

Lana, Chris, Dana and Nathan hit upon something really special when they teamed up to write this book. Their anecdotes are honest, fresh and oftentimes downright hilarious. And the occasional words of advice are never preachy, just FYIs from a fellow single who's "been there and done that."

Without hesitation, I can say this is the most encouraging and enjoyable book I've read all year! I have enthusiastically recommended it to all the single friends in my life!

I am a writer for the Purdue Exponent and was assigned to write a review because one of the authors, Lana Trent, is a Purdue graduate. I found myself enjoying the book for its honesty and emphasis on not being alone. The book relates everything to God and uses statistics and bible verses to complement the text. It's definitely not intended to be a self-help book, but it is helpful because it shows that there are plenty of single people in the world who are doing just fine. The book fights the notion that men and women need to be married by a certain age, or even at all. I especially liked the "other voices" in the book. The authors interviewed entertainers, ministry leaders, and evangelists who are popular in the Christian circuit in order to bring in some other beliefs. The comments by the other voices are almost comforting to the reader. It's nice to know that even famous people deal with the issue of living as a single. The book says that 45% of U.S. adults are single, so I think that a lot of people can relate to this.
