My Daewoo stopped reading discs after a year of light use by one user. Used cleaning disc numerous times but it didn't help. Just out of warranty. Same experience as other Daewoo dvd player owner.

I've had two Daewoo dvd players, one was a normal player and the other was a multi-region. Both of these players after a year or so of normal use just stopped reading discs completely. Cleaning the player did not help. I am now trying to find a better mutli-region player that will LAST. If you are only interested in a years worth of use then this for you, otherwise I'd do what I'm doing and find an alternative.

very annoying..

I was really happy to find this player available on Amazon, since my wife and I enjoy watching Asian films, which for the most part are in Region 3 and would not play on any of our existing equipment.

We haven't had any problems with the machine at all and would happily recommend it to anyone who appreciates foreign films, subtitles and all.

The most recent example was the big screen release of 'The Lake House' with Sandra Bullock and Keanu Reeves. It was a remake of a Korean film from 2002 title 'Il Mare', which we were able to locate on an Asian media website. However, it was (and is) only available as a region-3 DVD.

The Daewoo region-free DVD player is a most welcome additon to the film lover's home theater setup.
