Singled Out,
By Michael Kerner "Michael Kerner" (Brooklyn, New York U.S.A.) - See all my reviews (HALL OF FAME REVIEWER) (VINE VOICE)
This review is from: Single (New Kids on the Block & Ne-Yo) (MP3 Download)
For The New Kids On The Block, reuniting seemed to be a great idea after nearly 15 years out of the public spotlight as a group. While the feeling was right, the songs they've recently recorded feels like a missed opportunity. The second single from their comeback album, Single, a new collaboration with R&B singer Ne-Yo, doesn't feel like they have the definitive chemistry. Ne-Yo has a strong voice on the song, but it feels like his voice is stealing the show here. The song isn't a bad ballad, but I don't hear the real proof that New Kids On The Block actually have the right stuff on the song. Hopefully, Jordan, Donnie and company can really connect the next time they collaborate with someone else. I wasn't fully driven on the song as much as the melody was driven to be just single.Song: C 1/2- |
