5.0 out of 5 stars Romance With Heart and Humor...Love It!, February 14, 2011

From the back of the book:
Bachelor of the Month--Stony Arnett
This strong, sexy cowboy loves his ranch, his dog and, most of all ... his freedom! Too bad he doesn't know his roamin' days are about to be cut short....
Daphne Proctor wanted a husband-- and through "Texas Men" magazine, she'd thought she'd found her man. After all, she was half in love with Stony Arnett just through his letters. And once she felt the sizzling chemistry between them, she knew he was the one. That is, until she discovered that Stony hadn't been the lover in her letters. Now for my review:
I enjoyed this story very much. I laughed alot, but at times, I also wanted to cry. The story revolves around Stony & Daphne, and also Stony's ranch hands>>Jasper--Stony's foreman, & Stony's 4 wranglers>>Ty- the complainer, Big Clyde- the solid, logical one, Ramon- the Romeo of the bunch, & Andy- the youngest & also the biggest prankster of the bunch.
After corresponding with Stony, Daphne gives up her life in Hawaii to move to Rio Verde, Texas, to marry Stony, the rancher she's written to, and with whom she's fallen in love.
What happens next is complete chaos:
Daphne doesn't know that the ranch hands are the ones that wrote the letters, & Stony doesn't know what the guys have done. Due to miscommunication from the guys, Stony thinks they hired a prostitute to entertain him. His intentions are to refuse her, until he sees how beautiful Daphne is. They share a night of passion that to Daphne was everything she had hoped for. That is, until she reads the letter from Stony the next morning. The events that happen after this are what make this story funny & emotional (to me anyway).
Daphne is an interior decorator who practices an oriental philosophy called Feng Shui. Oh, & she's also a "born-again virgin". Ladies, you gotta love that idea.
The guys think Feng Shui is a form of karate & figure that she decorates by "leaping into a room and breaking up the old furniture with karate chops", which they look forward to seeing. But they also fear that if they upset her, she'll "use one of them feng shui moves and take us all out at one whack".
Daphne eventually explains Feng Shui to Stony, but he doesn't believe in it. He also doesn't want her to explain to the guys that it's not a form of karate--for her "own protection".
The emotional part comes from Stony & the internal conflicts he has to deal with due to the death of his mother & the life his father lives. It's these internal conflicts that cause him to push Daphne away. Can he overcome these conflicts before it's too late & Daphne leaves him for good? Is she strong enough to help Stony learn to love? How much heartache should one endure before they walk away?
Oh, did I forget to mention the Dog? She wondered onto Stony's ranch about a year back & Stony refuses to name her, just calls her Dog. Believe it or not, she plays a significant role in this story, also. Oh, & Daphne gives her the name Chi.
All of the characters blend well to make this an enjoyable story. So, if you're interested in a light-hearted romance with humor & heartbreak, then I think you'll enjoy this story.

Excellent story. I couldn't put the book down. I loved all the cowboys being involved and Stoney learning to love. I will probably read it again before giving to someone else to read. Please write more along the same lines. Thank you for the enjoyment.
