Depeche Mode - 1985-87.,
By The Groove (Boston, MA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Singles Box 3 (Audio CD)
This is the third entry of the Depeche Mode singles box set, and it compiles six singles ("Shake the Disease," "It's Called a Heart," "Stripped," "A Question of Lust," "A Question of Time," and "Little 15") with extended remixes and/or bonus tracks. Everything here has been previously released, so if you're looking for any "new" material, you'll be disappointed. However, it's worth picking up since these singles appear to have been remastered, and they feature some interesting cuts like the extended remix of "A Question of Time," the single "It's Called a Heart," the excellent b-side "Black Day," and one of my favorites: "But Not Tonight." Each single has the original artwork with production credits, and the booklet has the tracklisting of the entire box set. "The Singles Box 3" was originally released over a decade ago and then it soon went out of print. If you missed out on this box set the last time around, here's your second chance to pick it up.

Music is good, however,
By Lord Deonast "A picture is worth 1000 words, ... (Australia, NSW) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Singles Box 3 (Audio CD)
If you like early Depeche Mode the music is great each single is pretty much a collection of the various single tracks released in the UK and US. I actually bought this after already having the 1991 release of the UK edition singles box. I'd thought this might have been a remastered release. It isn't, this is the 1991 release music reissued in 2004 there is no discernible difference in Audio quality to the 1991 release which is a shame as you can hear in the Box sets 4-6 that they did remaster those.
This US us release also when you compare it to the UK release has a much cheaper looking and feeling box, it is much more flimsy. So if you have the choice I'd pick the UK release but keep in mind you are not getting a remastered sound for your money.
