5.0 out of 5 stars Not for the casual fan
This is a collection of remixes and edits from all of APB's singles. So, if you're looking for a "greatest hits" type of deal, this is not it. This is, however, an essential collection for anyone that wants to hear some of APB's older singles and EP's. The reason why the Mourn EP is not featured on this album is because it is still released on Tantra records,...

3.0 out of 5 stars Missing an important EP sans, this is incomplete!
Where is the Mourn ep? This is a nice little comprehensive set, though Apopcalyptic Manifesto covered most of disc two. Mourn was an extremely important single and the ep is significant! Cannot believe Stephan (or Tantra! the bums) left it out! The "extended version" of Nothing Else Matters is horrid with the two minute intro. Best part of this collection...

This is, however, an essential collection for anyone that wants to hear some of APB's older singles and EP's. The reason why the Mourn EP is not featured on this album is because it is still released on Tantra records, and is not to be deleted in the near future. I do recommend buying the Mourn EP however, as it contains some of APB's best work.

5.0 out of 5 stars good apop selection, September 12, 2009

It's got a bunch of great Apop songs, and some nice remixed. A lot of the music on this is old-school, which is great (as his newer stuff is kinda iffy). I totally recommend it!

This review is from: The Singles Collection (Audio CD)
This is a great collection of Apop songs and you have to be living under a rock if your a DJ and your not playing these guys!

This release includes one of my most requested songs ever, Kathy's Song (vnv mix). Other good dance floor hits include, Deep Red, Non-stop Violence, Electronic Warefare.

5.0 out of 5 stars A must have collection, August 31, 2003

Apoptygma Berzerk recently has taken over the #1 spot as my favorite band in recent months. I have not been able to get enough of Apop's brand of trance meets industrial music. I bought "The Singles Collection" several months ago off Metropolis Records' website. Although I have most of the songs or have heard the original versions, I still had to have the 2-cd compilation because I wanted to hear the remixes of "Kathy's Song" (from "Welcome to Earth") and the band's cover of Metallica's "Nothing Else Matters". Most of the songs are now out of print which is the reason for this singles collection. The original versions of the songs can be found on "The Apopcalyptic Manifesto", "7", and "Welcome to Earth". Nothing from their recent effort "Harmonizer" though. I was blown away when I heard Apop's version of "Nothing Else Matters". It is just as good as their version of another Metallica song "Fade to Black". The remixes of "Kathy's Song" are excellent. My favorite versions of the song is from VNV Nation (my second favorite band) and the Ferry Corsten remix. I can never tire of listening to "Kathy's Song". It is certainly one of my favorite Apop song from "Welcome to Earth". The CNN version of "Non-Stop Violence" can also be heard on the remastered version of "7". A great social commentary from Apop. Like labelmates VNV Nation, Apop has a real knack for blending the sweetest melodies with the most honest, angst-ridden lyrics I have ever heard. "The Singles Collection" is definitely a must have for Apop fans.

4.0 out of 5 stars Repetitive, December 21, 2009

Good music, but repetitive. I know it has many mixes of the same songs, they just aren't too creative. About half the songs on this CD are very good. The others are yawners.

I think this 2-cd set is a great collection of their singles. I'm not sure if it contains ALL of their singles and b-sides, but it is very thorough. A fantastic addition to any Apop Collector. Thank you very much for Apop for putting together all those songs into one set! A highly recommended compilation!

Cannot believe Stephan (or Tantra! the bums) left it out! The "extended version" of Nothing Else Matters is horrid with the two minute intro. Best part of this collection is having the singles comprised together. The mastering isn't all that great either. It's a nice start for Apop newbies. Beatbox is one of their finest achievements, glad that is here.
