This is the first package to look at collate Arthur Lyman's incredible singles releases. His music has been labelled ""exotica"", ""lounge"", even ""world music"". For those who do not need to put Arthur Lyman's music into any specific bag, it is simply ""easy listening"" music at its very best. In a career than spanned more than five decades Arthur Lyman's recording output was impressive; he recorded well over two dozen albums for the Hi-Fi label alone and went on to record more for GNP Crescendo. His ""Taboo"" album sold well in excess of two million copies and for the single ""Yellow Bird"" to make # 4 on the American singles chart in 1961 when all around him were post rock 'n' rollers like Del Shannon, Bobby Lewis, Gary (U.S.) Bonds and Pat Boone was also no mean feat. Comprehensive liner notes and attractive packaging complete this release.
