Being an entertainer is one thing, but having Kylie Minogue as your older sister has to be a nightmare. Imagine having your every release compared to her last, and facing the constant desire to try something she hasnt already. This disc is a great overview of Dannii's career. The first few tracks border on awful, but by the time you get to "This is it" you know youve spent your money wisely. You're bound to love the fact that every single, in order of release, is on one disc! Instead of just the album versions, we're treated to the original radio edits. The true standouts are "Jump to the beat", "This is it", "This is the way", "All i wanna do", "Everything i wanted", and "Disremembrance". The other tracks arent half bad, and being able to get them on one disc makes this collection a must have for anyone who'd rather not seek out the individual discs.

Being a big fan of the Neon Nights album, and not being able to find Dannii's previous albums Love And Kisses, Get Into You and Girl for a reasonable, I purchased this.

The album begins with Dannii's debut single "Love And Kisses". It is her most successful single in Australia (peaking at #4), and got to #8 in the UK. As with most of the songs from this album, the lyrics are kind of corny, but depite this, the actual music and vocal is very good. There is a male rapper featured in this song. The second song, Success is a song I like a bit more (but not much) than the previous. According to this song successful means that you are rich and famous.... and this is one of two songs on this album that Dannii Minogue co-wrote. This was the second single taken from the Love And Kisses album (it was named Dannii in Australia) and it got to #11 in the UK, but only got to #29 in Australia. Jump To The Beat follows and it is the best song so far. It is another song which features a male rapper, and Dannii raps also in this song. Baby Love is probably the equal worst song on this album, and it is a re-make. I Don't Wanna Take This Pain only got to #90 in Australia and #40 in the UK, but I think it is the best song taken from the Love And Kissses album that is featured on this CD. There is again rapping in this song and although it is very corny, the way Dannii sings the last line of her rap (I don't wanna take this pain!) is very very classy. In general, the first 5 songs on this CD sound a bit dated, but except for Baby Love are all very good.

The following songs are taken from the "Get Into You" album which only got to #52 in the UK and #53 in Aus, compared to Love And Kisses / Dannii which got to #8 in the UK and #4 in Australia. Show You The Way To Go is track 6 and got to #30 in the UK and #103 in Australia. It is a remake of the Jackson 5 hit. It is not the best song on the album.... The next song is Love's on every corner, which was only released in the UK (#44). It my favourite single from the Get Into You album, but the Get Into You era is defintaly not my favourite of Dannii's....Track 8, This Is It, is the most overrated Dannii song ever!!! It got to #10 in the UK and #9 in Australia, but really can not compare with the fabulous Girl singles, or even I Don't Wanna Take This Pain from Love And Kisses. It is just way to corny and not really about anything. Some of the remixes are okay though. I don't really like the next track, This Is The Way, either. Again, it is not really about anything and is quite unoriginal. Get Into You is pop/rock, as opposed to dance, or dance/pop, which the above 9 tracks are. It is a great song and is not about a 'happy' subject matter, in which most of Dannii Minogue's songs are.

The next for tracks are taken from the Girl era, which was when Dannii (in my opinion) was at her artistic peak. Other than the Neon Nights singles, All I Wanna Do is Dannii's most successful single, going Gold in Austrlia, and debuted at #4 in the UK. It is a techno-based song where Dannii sings "All I Wanna Do is touch you..." - it is very good indeed. Everything I Wanted id my favourite Dannii single ever, and the best Dannii Minogue song that I have heard (I only have this album and Neon Nights). This song is quite dark, which is very unlike the vast majority of Dannii's songs and the techno beats are amazing, and Dannii co-wrote this song!!! I always like it better when artists write their own music and wish Dan would at least make one album where she writes or co-writes all of the songs, like her sister (Kylie) did with Imposissible Princess (one of the best albums ever). The second last track is Disrememberance, which is another outstanding track from the Girl era. It sort of reminds me of a techno and better version of Goldfrapps "Number 1" song. The final track is Coconut, which is an unusual song with odd lyrics about putting a lime in a coconut? (Is this metaphorical?) Quite bizarre indeed...

Therefore, I think that Dannii is a lot better than Kylie. She is more creative and more experimental than Kylie in general, despite Kylie's Indie era. This is a great album for people who don't wanna pay $30+ for Dannii Minogue's Love And Kisses or Girl album(s), which I look forward to purchasing in the future.

Dannii Minogue's dancepop recording career has been overshadowed by her sister's, the much-more-famous Kylie's. Which is a little odd, when one considers that they inhabit the same sphere of music and have similar voices. And Dannii does turn out some decent dancepop tunes.

Unfortunately, "Singles" is one of those compilations that did NOT need to be made. It traces Dannii's earlier career, starting in the early nineties and ending in her pre-"Neon Nights" era. While the last round of songs are popcorn fun, the ones that come before have dated badly.

Those songs are from the albums "Get Into You" and "Love and Kisses," both released in the early days of the nineties, back when Madonna was an MTV icon rather than a British mum. And what's more, you can date songs like the ghastly bubblegum "Love and Kisses," disco-tinged "Jump to the Beat" and bouncy "This Is It" just by listening to them.

The tempo revs up for the last third, which is made up of songs from her late-nineties album "Girl." The sound is less bubblegum and more techno-based -- it's still light dancepop, but it sounds less like something that should be coming from a thirteen-year-old's iPod. Finally the "hidden track" of "Girl" is added on: "Coconut," which has a fun fast beat but very annoying vocals.

Perhaps the simple answer for Dannii's lack of pop success lies in this album: none of the singles are great. The good ones aren't bad, but none will knock you senseless and beg replay. And the bubblegum cheese is too painful to listen to more than once at most, with the hyperdramatic singing style, ghastly raps and ultra-light synthpop.

Like her sister, Dannii has a pleasantly lightweight voice. Unlike her sister, Dannii's voice takes on an odd nasal quality in some songs. To make matters worse, some of the songs have some truly horrific lyrics lyrics: "Boy, you wanna go steady with me?/You better treat this a little more seriously/True love?/You don't know the meaning/You broke my heart/I thought we would never part."

While the last few songs of "Singles" are lightweight fun, the majority of Dannii Minogue's "hit singles" album is too cheesy to tolerate, with goofy early-90s bubblegum and terrible writing.

As a big Minogue sisters fan, I was thrilled to discover this Australian release of Dannii's original hits. This album contains all 14 tracks from her first 3 albums: `Love And Kisses', Get Into You' and `Girl'.
There aren't any bonus tracks on here (and remixes get their own album), which would normally cause me to mark it down. But considering that her albums are deleted from sales, this album is a great way to allow Dannii's fans to have access to her earlier work.
Admittedly the first `Love And Kisses' singles have aged since '91, but they still have that catchy appeal to them. The `Get Into You' tracks still sound current, as do the `Girl' releases. Dannii's voice has also grown notably stronger, and she has a confidence that is somewhat lacking in the `Love And Kisses' era.

Okay, Dannii may not be up to scratch like her sister Kylie, but this collection of hits is sure very good! Dannii's singles on the charts were in the position of Kylie's deconstruction era - not THAT many top 10 singles and few low points with the charts. However, the collection itself is amazing! I especially love the last 4 tracks, all taken from the album "Girl". ("Coconut" was a hidden track.) Seen as these hits are pretty darn good and worth 9 or 10 stars out of 10 (most of them deserving a good 10), I will give the chart positions instead.

Well, this was a random buy. I work at a records store, and it was always STARING AT ME!!!!

So I bought it.

It's sounds like 80s, early 90s music. Almost like Madonna "Like a Virgin" days. But yeah. It's not bad. It's just not my thing. Like I said, a random buy on my part.

I didn't realize that it was Dannii Minogue, because here more recent stuff is fun, like "Put a Needle on It". But this is just so much different.

Anyway, if you like Dannii, I'm sure you'll love this album. I do like Dannii, and Kylie, but I just didn't know who this was at first. Soooooo...yeah.

Dannii has released many singles over the years and this album contains them all in there pop perfection. Allthough this album is filled mainly with the cheesy pop of the early nineties it also has some of the songs from her recent album Girl. These songs are 'mature dance pop' style and have a great feel about them. The early songs are okay, but the pure excellence of dannii's more recent materiel make this album a must have for EVERYONE's CD collection.

This is an excellent CD for fans and collectors to buy all the songs sound cool,the quality of sound is excellent also.

I've wanted this album for the past two years and I finally managed to get it recently after a bit of persuading which was good. I've had a chance to listen to all the songs on it, some of which I've already heard before - This Is It, All I Wanna Do, Everything I Wanted and Disrememberance. I was suprised though that Dannii covered a song that was once a huge hit for Michael Jackson and his brothers group back in the late 1970s.

I like the up-tempo beats that most of the songs have, but I was a bit dissapointed with Disremembrance. It isn't as good as I remember it being. My favourite tracks on the album have to be This Is It, Show You The Way (To Go), This Is The Way, Everything I Wanted and All I Wanna Do. They are so good and if you listen to the songs with headphones, all the better.

I was also dissapointed with Baby Love. At first I thought it was a cover of The Supremes 60s hit, but when I heard it, it wasn't and was just plain boring really. I was also a bit dissapointed with Coconut, but the up-tempo beats are good though.

Overall I've only given this album 4 stars because only 7 of the songs are really good and the rest are a bit boring, but being a huge fan of Dannii's recent singles - Put The Needle On It, Don't Wanna Lose This Feeling and You Won't Forget About Me, I thought I'll give this album a go. I'm also a huge fan of her sister Kylie - as I've got all 8 studio albums plus the two greatest hits, (the 1992 release with her PWL hits on it and the recent Ultimate Kylie, which is a best of collection.)

I would recommend this album to anyone who is into up-tempo, nightclub style music but also to anyone who has had trouble trying to get this album before (you can buy this online as an import), and to anyone who has got Dannii's recent album Neon Nights and the Single You Won't Forget About Me.
