Oh The Memories,
By
This review is from: The Singles (Audio CD)
I have loved Donny Osmond since I was about 10 years old. I have seen him on talk shows and as much as he doesnt want to go back to that time-I LOVE IT!!!! I own all these cds. And whenever life gets a bit much, I sit down and listen to them. They bring me back to a much simpler time!!! Where my only worries were if I got a pimple or the cute new boy in my class. Donny is still awesome and I wish he realized how much joy he brings to alot of people. by the way I am 42.

More than memories for me,

Going back in time when I was just about 11 I got onstage and sang Puppy Love to a crowded hall it was 1972 and I had been singing since I bought Sweet & Innocent. All I could do was try my hardest to sing with such power and softness. Donny had me because I saw myself as an entertainer someday and I wanted to be like him. I idolized his voice and how it was easy to sing like him, and I found my own voice in 1974.
If you want to hear B sides, this CD is the one. Life Is Just What You Make It should have been released as a single itself. I remember seeing Hey Girl / I Knew You When released as an A and B side but both became hits. I was sad that the same did not happen with others. I still listen and sing along with Donny and the osmonds. My memories are special for me, but yours must be too. Buy this and you won't be disappointed. Going, going gone to somebody else...

This CD stands out from all other Donny Osmond greatest hits collections because half the songs on this compilation are the B sides of singles. Many songs, such as Going, Going Gone, Hey There Lonely Girl & Life Is Just Whst You Make It, appear here for the first time on CD. Recomended for those who want to explore the music of Mr. Osmond beyond his greatest hits.

I LOVE THIS ALBUM!!,

A must have for the true Donny fan. This album has the best selection of hit songs since K-tel's Donny Osmond Superstar double album. I wore that album out years ago. I wish they would re-issue that classic!

Just awesome hearing these songs that I played from a vinyl album back in the 70's. This is a really great CD, a must have for anyone's collection, to just remember the times of the 70's. Just recently met Donny at the Border's book store here in NYC, bought his NEW CD, Songs of the 70's, it's great also, but fun to hear his voice on these earlier songs when he was just a kid! He's as good looking as ever, was as nice and gracious as could be. Go Donny!

Donny Osmond: The Singles is one of the better single CD retrospectives out there for Donny's fans to cherish and enjoy over and over again. This album more than proves Donny's tremendous command of his repertoire and that's grand. Although of course not every special number can be placed on any single CD retrospective, the songs and ballads on this album are very, very special. In addition, the quality of the sound is excellent.
There are so many gems on this album that there really isn't a bad track in the lot--I love it! These songs bring back great memories, too. "Sweet and Innocent" has Donny front and center; and he never lets go of a superfluous note even though he was so young when this was recorded--what genius he had at a very early age! "Go Away Little Girl" is a very fine number; I could never tire of hearing numbers like this one. "Hey Girl" and "Puppy Love" are very poignant; and "Going Going Gone" gets the royal treatment from Donny who delivers this seemingly effortlessly. Of course, we know it really wasn't all that easy; Donny's talents carry him through every time. "Hey There Lonely Girl" is easy on the ear, to say the least; and "Big Man" is quite good. "Too Young" is one of my very favorite songs on the album; I (and so many others) can really identify with this song because of our own first loves when we were still rather young. "Why" charms me every time I hear it; and Donny does great justice to "A Teenager in Love;" "The Twelfth of Never" with that beautiful musical arrangement to accompany his vocals; "Life Is Just What You Make It" that features Donny once again in his natural element as a fine singer who can perform a tune flawlessly; "A Million to One" with that backup chorus--even though Donny never needed backup they do sound good anyway. "Young Love" sounds fresh and new when I hear Donny Osmond perform it; and there's yet another gem in "Who Can I Turn to (When Nobody Needs Me)." "Who Can I Turn To (When Nobody Needs Me)" is memorable and it moves me very much. Just one listen will tell you why! "The Other Side of Me" has some fine percussion as Donny sings this perfectly; and "Tears on My Pillow" showcases even more Donny's superlative singing talent with a very lush musical arrangement. "When I Fall in Love" stuns me with its beauty; and the CD closes strong with Donny Osmond doing his usual outstanding singing on both "I'm Dying" and "Where Did All the Good Times Go?" Donny Osmond fans should add this to their collections; and it's all so good that this is a terrific starter album for anyone just discovering Donny's mesmerizing talent. Thank you, Donny Osmond!

Aw, Donny Osmond. The man with three careers! Member of three musical groups! You can guarantee that Donny won't be out of work any time soon as a member of three bands. And each one completely different!
First, there is his job as keyboardest for the legendary rock band the Osmonds. Second, is his duo as Donny and Marie. And if that weren't enough there is his solo career as Donny Osmond. If one doesn't work out he can just move on to the next one. But the best part is that he keeps all three going and ahead of the game!

Brings back my happiest childhood memories,
This review is from: The Singles (Audio CD)
Listening to this CD brings back my happiest childhood memories of when I would listen to Donny Osmonds records over and over again. In 1971 and 1972 I was 12 and 13 years old. Donny Osmond was my idol. Every month I bought the latest issues of 16 and Tiger Beat Magazine and read every article about Donny Osmond. He was on the cover of every issue along with David and Bobby. That was when teen magazines were only 35 cents. I saw Donny in - Beauty And The Beast - in 2006. He was so great in that show and afterwards he came out to sign autographs and take photos with everyone. Meeting him in person was one of the most thrilling moments of my life. He was so kind to all his fans and he took the time to see every person who was waiting on line. It is hard to believe that it was 40 years ago - 1971 - when I was 12 years old - and I bought the 45 - Go Away Little Girl - And ever since then I have been a fan of his my entire life. Buy this CD - You will love every song.

I absolutely love this CD! I literally wept the first time I listened to it, hearing songs that I had not heard before (from other compilations) in so many years. This is the closest thing to my beloved Donny Osmond Superstar album. I listen to it almost daily.
