Ahh... we all remember the sunny days of summer '82 when Imagination was THE best European disco act around... Imagination, a trio out of France, cranked out hit after hit, and this compilation has them all.

The band had a sound all of its own, in the middle of the crazy European disco scene. The up-tempo songs are still the best: Just an Illusion (their big break-through hit in 1981), Music and Lights, Flashback, Changes, Looking at Midnight (albeit regretfully here in the "single" version), New Dimensions, State of Love, Burnin' Up, and on and on... The ballads are not bad either (such as Body Talk, In and Out of Love, etc).

This compilation is what anyone interested in Imagination would ever want. All the hits are here, and as a bonus, there is a "Megamix" tagged on as well. Classify this as a "guilty pleasure": this isn't serious music, but oh so enjoyable!!

If you love great music, bye this cd. It has the best is slow R&B disco, it's fynky with a street soul feeling, ranks up along with artist like

(Change - Very best of, a must have, best track i think is The Glowe of love or maybe Hold Tight, but hard to say which one is the best they are all top classics)

(Kleeer - Very best of, a must have, this one is so cool it will get you up dancing in no time, it's so funky)

(Rene & Angela - Come my way best of, a must have)

All I can say is thank you to Amazon.com. I couldn't remember the name of this group for the life of me but I never forgot my favorite song "Just an Illusion". Since you allow customers to enter song titles in the search field I thought I'd give it a try, never expecting to find what I was looking for! My sister was a DJ back in the day and turned me on to this group in the early 80's. She often had the 411 on the best music nationally and internationally even before they were popular. Another group I highly recommend for Imagination fans is the R&B group, Breakwater (which can be found here also) They jammed in the late 70's early 80's like nobody's business! You won't be disappointed, especially with their monster cut "Work It out".

I have loved Imagination forever. All I have had for years is the cassette. I had Body Talk and In the Heat of the Night. One is a white cassette with blue words and the other is a white cassette with red words. Funny that I remember that since i haven't played it for years. Anyways, this cd has most of my favorites on it. I am missing a few songs, but that is okay, the main goodies are on this disc. It is amazing that even though the songs are quite dated, they still sound just as good and wonderful as they did 15 years ago. I hear that Leee John is putting out Jazz music. I haven't heard it, but based on Imagination, I can only think that it is excellent. Great music! Great band! 5 stars!

I had a Tape which was recorded from L.P i played so much finaly sond quality gave up , every song is a good song worth it for your money , play this cd in high End Stereo you will love it THE BEST is far sure THE BEST.........

I've purchased this cd for the songs titled "Just an Illusion" and "Body Talk". I was only about 9-11 years old when "Just an Illusion" came out but I remember listening to it when my uncle played it and it triggered memories of the good times. I know this sounds silly but I use to slow down the speed to the instrumental version (It was on vinyl back then) because I thought the sound was unique and I loved it. (I was just a kid!!!) After listening to the entire cd I knew I made the right choice. This cd has everything from disco to romance. Other titles on this cd such as "In & Out of Love", "Music & Lights", "In the Heat of the Night", and "All Night Loving" are outstanding. The music itself is mellow and smooth. I wonder if this group would think about doing a reunion tour. They were and are a great band. Think about it guys. Thanks for the great music and memories. A greatful fan.

Where did these guys go? Vividly remember their excellent performances on the UK's "Top of the Pops" in the early eightys'. Simply Dynamite! Body talk, simply an illusion, music and lights etc. It all takes me back to high school, saturday night dances in Namasagali, Uganda.

Toe tapping, heart racing, can't stop dancing Pop-Disco as well as sultry, sensual R&B all mixed into one superb CD. This outstanding trio first appeared on the scene in the early 80's and attained international acclaim ( in Europe, the Middle and Far East but to a much lesser extent in the U.S ) with their chart-topping hit ' Just an illusion '. I first heard this single back in '82 when I was a teenager in my homeland of Egypt where it was an instant hit. Several of the cuts on this CD ( 7, to be exact ) were top R&B hits in the U.S between 1981-87 while all of the cuts topped various other international charts. For all the younger fans of R&B whose generation missed the Imagination era, buy this CD, it contains superbly written R&B songs. For all those who think Maxwell revolutionized R&B, guess what, these guys have been there, done that, truely masters of R&B. If you're from the Pop-Disco generation and missed hearing Imagination, buy thi! s CD, they give Chic a run for their money with their feverish dance tunes. This Cd has it all, steamy R&B ( listen to " In the heat of the night " & " All nights lovin " which are sure to raise your hearbeat and temperature with their sultry synthesizers, base and haunting backgound vocals ) as well as feverishly rythmic dance beats ( as on " changes " , " music & lights & " new dimensions " ). Outstanding CD, a definite must have for all generations and lovers of Pop, Disco & R&B. I bought this cd just for "Just an Illusion" But when I heard the entire cd, I found the same sensual-powerful music in all their songs. I recomend this cd if you want to hear some full of sensuality, with an incredible rhythm, disco music

This complilation is excellent. There are more than four songs that are great. Usually, a complilation gives one or two hits. This is a must for a music collector.
