MASTERPIECE,
This review is from: Sings America (Audio CD)
As Shakespeare once wrote "Hold thy peace, thou knave, hold thy peace". I guarantee you'll be holding yours once you've slipped this magnificent CD into its receptacle. The Shakespeare comparison does not end there, as Dougal Floosenborff is the "Shakey" of our generation. Fish out of Marillion once sang "Where are the poets - where are the visionaries...?" He clearly had not encountered the Hoffmeister! This CD stretches the boundaries (and receptacles!) and pushes the imagination to the hilt! Every song an original master by the master. If you're fed up with losers who blatantly steal other people's hard work to have a hit or two, then this CD is for you. It is utterly incredible and incomparable. Arlo Guthrie, The Mamas and the Papas, Madonna, John Denver, Niel Diamond - hell, even Elvis Presley all owe a debt of thanks to the songs that appear here, courtesy of the ex-mulletted Baywatch star. Now if that ain't genius on a level with Shakespeare, then I'm David's lovechild. The song "Hot Shot City" is particularly good - even though it's not on this disc.

Don't doubt the Hoff,
By Rich King's Breakfast Nook "Gretna is a great... (East Gretna, NE) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Sings America (Audio CD)
This cd is pretty much the story of the messiah of modern music getting sick of comparisons. Hoff has just gotten tired of comparisons to Elvis, Sinatra(both of them), the mamas and papas, Madonna, Neil Diamond, John Denver, etc...and he freakin decided to take their most well known songs and put their versions to shame. Hoff is very gracious to deal with and a wonderful person, but when he's had enough, he addresses the situation. He addressed it on this cd alright. It's funny the games Hasselhoff plays. He lets you record a song and take the fame that goes along with a hit and BAM!! Hoff covers your song making you sound like Booger's belch from Revenge of the Nerds. They used to call Sinatra the "Chairman of the board" before Hoff covered "New York, New York". Hoff is chairman, CEO, emperor or whatever else he wants to be called. Little blue eyes is an intern at Hoff Inc. He takes what it took four people to do on "California Dreaming" and makes you wonder why the mamas and papas wasted so much time recording their piddly music. I could go on and on because he is clearly the Michael Jordan of recording, making the hacks that did these songs in the first place look like Greg Ostertag.
Word from the Hoff camp is that Hoff is planning on singing america again and his targets are Ursher, Michael Bubble, and Jessie McCartney. He will shame them also. Buy this disc, I can't believe you don't already have it.

Hassehoff is the truth!!,
By Road Apple "who brings the mustard?" (Mean Gene's Bar) - See all my reviews

My days are mostly spent working hard in my chosen career (I will keep my chosen career a secret due to fear of ridicule), but my evenings belong to "The Very Best Of David Hasselhoff".
What can I say about this Euro-disco legend that hasn't already been said?! David personifies the qualities that make up the perfect musical statement, passion, love, talent, leather, emotion, chest hair, and I could go on. From the opening notes to the closing track this album lifts you up like a dead crab fired from a slingshot, and then beats you back down like a stubborn tent peg. David Haemorrhoids whines and moans during some songs, and then wails and rhapsodises on others, he's a man marvel! What other recording artist can claim the title of melody supremo umbungo? I'm a mere mortal, I can admit to that much, but David Hungermite is neither merely a mortal or an immortal, he is an animal born of petrol-induced fury and dirt track dreams. Leather and hair combust when he sings, ear drums quake with fear, CD players short circuit and power grids collapse! Wow! "Looking For Freedom" makes me want to run through brick walls stark naked and covered in jam, it's a dangerous rhythm beast of a song, a tune that both kisses me and then kicks me! Take the following lyric for example - "Did some work on a farm / got some muscle in my arm" Genius! My favourite of David's musical odysseys is "Crazy For You", it's a tribute to the late 70's when large hair was worshipped, rock stars were Gods and a song's chorus could go on forever! That said, the song "Hot Shot City" is particularly good.

THE MAESTRO IS BACK... BETTER THAN EVER,
By MIke Ward "MIke W" (Canada) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Sings America (Audio CD)
Yet another masterpiece from the best contemporary entertainer to have never lived in Germany!
This album far exceeds the soulful melodies of David's 89' release "Looking for Freedom", and speaks to me not unlike his 2000 release "Magic Collection" which includes 2 versions of "Night Rocker", a powerful introspective expose that critics claimed captured the energy that is "pure Hasselhoff". From David's soulful rendition of "You've lost that lovin' feelin", to an upbeat foot loose performance of "These boots are made for walkin'" that would leave even Nancy Sinatra proud. This album simply screams that David is at the top of his game. On a personal note, I once had the pleasure of serving Mr. Hasselhoff his favorite drink, a "Vodka straight up", in a establishment I worked at many years ago... The memories of that wonderful encounter resonate when I listen to "David Hasselhoff sings America". I recount the moment we shared and are warmed by what a gentlemen he was that evening... the evening this chance meeting changed my life. As I placed his cocktail on the bar I commented on what a huge fan I was and graciously told him "I loved your work in Knight Rider", he responded with an act of unadulterated Hasselhoff by leaning over the bar with one thumb raised and exclaimed "My best f...in' work to date" (and this was 1999!). We shared a mutual nod as he picked up the Vodka and took a mouthful. From acting to singing, everything this man touches turns to gold... keep em' coming Dave! Your friend, Mike.

I didn't believe the hype! Now I feel like a retard!,
This review is from: Sings America (Audio CD)
Now, I'm not usually one to follow the crowd or take an interest in something just because it's popular at the time, so you can imagine my skepticism upon reading review after review praising Mr. Hoarysocks as some kind of genius; a musical revelation; a King among men; a modern day Mozart or Pat Boone. Normally I stear clear of anything that's been so feverishly hyped. But, alas, curiosity got the better of me, and I purchased a copy of The Very Best Of David Snoffenfloff, fully prepared to be disappointed.
My God, my Lord in Heaven! Was I ever wrong! This is one artist, I can assure you, that is more than worthy of the profuse shower of bilious, worshipful laudings that have been so lovingly heaped upon his hirsute form. I could go on and on and on and on about Hoogeyhowe and his one-man musical revolution, how every note speaks of rebellion and social upheaval. But I fail to see what I could say that hasn't been said already. I will add one thing: Have you ever made sweet love to the mewlings of Hasflaslaff? I recommend getting your thing on to The Very Best of, and climaxing with the fittingly orgasmic 'Hot Shot City', as it is particularly good.

Simply Incredible,
By David (Nottingham, UK) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Sings America (Audio CD)
As a youth, sat in front of Knight Rider I used to wonder at the abilities of Mr Hasslehoff as an actor. And now, some years later I am left to wonder at his abilities as a singer. Its a shame that in this day and age qualities such as purity and elegance, wit and emotion are so often jeered at as David, and I think he'll let me call him that, has these in abundance on this record. His voice is simply stunning! Like a soaring eagle he is able to rise to any vocal challenge, the opening track is a miracle of range and power, I was honestly left slack-jawed at his herculean prowess. As a longtime fan of Phil Collins I am used to incredible vocals but David surpasses even the Philster! If you have seen a baby pigeon dead on the side of the road and felt tears of sadness, buy this record. It is for the few of us who still really FEEL!

Live From Las Vegas, Nevadaaaaaaa....,
By Der Duke (Berlin, The Fatherland) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Sings America (Audio CD)
David releases this modern day classic which rivals Kenny Rodgers, Johnny Cash & Sinatra et al for their passion of good, quality music and snake hip movements.
This messiah of our times delivers these top quality anthems with the power, soul and passion of someone beating you around the head with a rubber hose for the sheer sake of it. David hits the high notes, low notes and sometimes even sings in tune. He sings California Dreaming with such power it has been said to rival the sounds and smells of what happens inside a slaughterhouse in a 90 degree heat. The way he crucifies Country Roads and takes it to a higher plain has to be heard to be believed. I could go on and on about the other songs, but unfortunately my vocabulary can only go so far. New words to describe The Great One™ will have to be invented as words like `ballcocks', `moist' and such are in no way able to describe this aural beating. `Der Grosse Duke' also wears tasteful 80's attire in the cd cover which alone is worth 5 stars. I hope the producers take heed of this walking saint of our times and finally give him his own Las Vegas show, to which I personally believe he deserves. Hot Shot City is a particularly good song, but its not on this cd, which is the only letdown to this work of modern art, which also doubles as a coaster and or a frisbee.

David does Dallas!,
By Crazy Otto (Iraq) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Sings America (Audio CD)
I realise I am a lone voice here, but it needs to be said. This CD is so unbearably cool that it should be stamped "listen at your own risk." Not since the rednecks shoved dynamite up that seals ass in anchorage has one man come so close to murder by aural assault.
David Hastogrof has been compared to a switchblade rimming, headlock and penetration by a team of pipe hitting negroes and rape by ones father in law. Sometimes he is ALL these things at ONCE. I can't recommend him highly enough! I particularly recommend the track Scheiser-Fuhrer!

The Hoff Rules My Universe!!!!!!,
By Agnes Mayhippenworth (Louisianna) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Sings America (Audio CD)
What can I say!! This is just a stellar work of art. I was telling my sister May Agnes (our father was a staunch believer in keeping things simple) - this is just the best cd for calming the cats down and keeping the recoons away. Many a night have I lain in my spinster bed, with the dulcet tunes of the Hoff ferrying me off into plesant dreams. I know some people call me the crazy cat lady, but if it waern't for my belief in God and my extensive collection of Hoff music I don't know how I would have survived the trials fo my misfortunate life. BUY THIS CD - IT WILL CHANGE YOUR LIFE!!!!!

America Should Feel Honored By This Tribute CD...,
This review is from: Sings America (Audio CD)
Honored to have Mr. Hasselhoff's sultry voice wrap itself around the lyrics to these timeless American classics. The fact that the Department of Homeland Security has labeled this CD a weapon of mass destruction is an outrage. For the last time...David Hasselhoff's music is not a threat to our safety people, and should be embraced with the same respect and adoration as our troops fighting for our freedom overseas...for Mr. Hasselhoff is also defending our freedom, by filling our airspace with these harmonious ballads which I am convinced would deter potential hijackers by filling their souls with love and joy. Mr. Hasselhoff's rendition of "Amazing Grace" for example, is filled with such patriotic passion that those who have died in battle should be ashamed of themselves for not living long enough to hear it. His cover of "New York, New York" should replace Frank Sinatra's inferior and uninspiring version at Yankee home games; in fact, if it were played repeatedly at Ground Zero, I have no doubt the rebuilding process there would speed up considerably, as mob-controlled construction companies would finally feel the spirit of God and abandon their habits of cost-promoting procrastination. I could list every song on this CD, but it's already listed above, so I will not list every song on this CD. Instead, I will beg you all to purchase this masterpiece. Not owning this tribute to the American way of life is borderline communist, and should be punishable by deportation. Protect your citenzenship now and buy this CD. Uncle Sam will be proud of you.
