These recordings were the first I heard of Lee Wiley way back in my teen years in the 1950s. They were made way before then but Lee Wiley is the kind of singer who defies time. These performances are wise, witty, moody and thoroughly intelligent. She is an artist for the ages and these recordings will always sound contempoary. Don't miss this wonderful collection.

The recordings in this collection are magnificent performances; unfortunately, they were transferred at the wrong pitch many years ago, and this error is carried through on this set. However, you may obtain the most recent and far superior transfers on the "Lee Wiley Completists' Collection" available on the "Devil's Music" (Ted Ono's Baldwin Street Music spinoff) label. If not avaialble on Amazon, it's worth searching for the complete series.

Have had quite a few tracks only over the years as a backing singer to various bands/groups. Now I'm gobsmacked at just how lovely & versatile this lady's vocal repertoire is. No matter who she has backing her, the style & voice comes through superbly. Have now obtained 3 separate CD's & find it hard to try & say which is best, she is amazing.
