5.0 out of 5 stars Solid Melodic Metal/Hard Rock CD!!, November 12, 2007

This review is from: Sinister Mind (Audio CD)
JADED HEART has a rebirth !
With a more metal sound vs the traditional AOR/Hard Rock sound, but with the big chorus/hooks and the traditional melodic lines !it's still a good CD worth checking for melodic metal lovers....Buy it

This is seriosuly amazing melodic rock/metal album. BIG choruses, excellent guitar work, fantastic keyboards, soaring vocals and heavy bass and drums. It's quite addictive as the reviewer above states.

4.0 out of 5 stars Killer melodic hard rock album, November 21, 2008
This review is from: Sinister Mind (Audio CD)
I hadn't really been paying attention to what German melodic rockers Jaded Heart was up to since original vocalist Michael Bormann left the band, but I decided to give their latest album - 2007's Sinister Mind - a try. I'm glad I did.

Beyond the change in vocalists, the main thing that jumped out at me when I first listened to Sinister Mind was the overall heaviness of the band's sound. That's something you didn't hear much of on albums like Inside Out and Slaves & Masters. The songs are still very melodic, but they definitely have a heavier edge not unlike Pink Cream 69. This heavier sound works very well with Johan Fahlberg's vocal style. I was surprised to find that I actually prefer Fahlberg to Bormann. His voice is steadier and less abrasive, and still packs plenty of punch. To my ears, this is a new and improved Jaded Heart. You get the same great melodies and killer hooks, but with a harder hitting edge and a powerful new voice.

I have no problem recommending Sinister Mind to fans of the older Jaded Heart albums and to melodic hard rock fans in general. Anyone who enjoys bands like Pink Cream 69, Bonfire, Pretty Maids, Chalice, Axxis, and Jorn should love the newer, heavier Jaded Heart sound.

5.0 out of 5 stars Jaded Heart - Sinister Mind. Best thing to come out of Germany ever., August 9, 2008
This review is from: Sinister Mind (Audio CD)
I love Jaded Heart.
They can't do anything wrong in my book.
And this album proves it.
It's a fantastic listen from start to finish and one of the best cd's I have ever bought.
It has everything that a great rock album needs.
If you call yourself a rock fan, then you already own this.
But if for some strange reason you haven't got round to buying it, then hurry up and do so. You'll be addicted to it from the first time you hear it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Light in the Darkness, July 29, 2008

This review is from: Sinister Mind (Audio CD)
I am an Eighties metal fan and have not had much to look forward to but recently bands have been trickling out decent music, but Jaded Heart is a favorite from when I lived in Germany and this title does not disappoint.

Hero - Strong opening I like it reminds me a little of Helloween
Justice is Deserved - Like the chorus
Sinister Mind - Great guitar work and singing
Going Under - Not one of my favorites but to each his own, self important song.
See the Light - Love this song, double bass drums are my favorite
Open Your Eyes - Drop D tuning doesn't lend itself to the singer but pretty rocking
My Eager's Red - Filler, least liked song on Sinister Mind
Always on My Mind - Could repeat this song for hours, very catchy
Heavenly Devotion - Great song but please lose the Wah pedal
To Please & Give In- Sound like the guitar mix was done in a cardboard box but song is OK.'
Hellucinate - Great song, strongest on the CD
Crush That Fear - Good Finsih

Don't get me wrong I like all the songs but I am pointing out the flaws I caught. Buy this CD if you are a fan of 80s Metal.
