Book Description

It's hard enough being famous and not rich. When a stalker enters the picture, reality TV has never seemed so real. Ambitious personal trainer Cassidy Novak has gained fame for starring on Sink or Swim, a hit reality show. Not only does she lose and have to walk the plank, but after the game show ends, the terror begins. Upon returning home, Cassidy discovers she has attracted a stalker masterminding his own twisted game. She struggles to focus on her health club job and celebrity endorsement opportunities, but her stalker has other plans. As her former competitors get knocked off one-by-one, Cassidy refuses to play by the stalker's bizarre rules. She's also being shadowed by hunky cowboy photographer Zach Gallagher, who has been assigned to capture her personal moments for a spread in the local newspaper. She wants to trust the mysterious Zach, yet fears he may not be what he seems. When the stalker forces a showdown, Cassidy must once again walk the plank...this time for her life. A #1 Kindle Bestseller in the Women Sleuths and Romantic Suspense Categories and a fun beach read endorsed by contestants from Survivor, Big Brother, and The Amazing Race.

Recommended by Coffee Time Romance & More, Romance Junkies, Book-Club-Queen, and many other reviewers. Don't miss the Whispersync Audible edition of Sink or Swim, narrated by actress Funda Duval, who brings the diverse cast of characters to life with her wide range of voices. The title is also available in e-book format as part of the Young Ladies of Mystery Boxed Set.

I was so excited to read this book because I loved her previous book, Twenty-Five Years Ago Today, and she did not disappoint! There was action, mystery and romance all tied into one very well-written story. Book-Club-Queen

5.0 out of 5 stars Sink or Swim, Reality TV with a twist! December 13, 2010
Format:Paperback
Sink or Swim, I was honored enough to get an advanced copy of this book and have been dying to write this review.
I started reading it and thought, wow an inside view of the life of a reality "star". I enjoy reality TV, let's see how "tough" their life really is after appearing on TV.
Cassidy has the misfortune of being the "runner-up" and must walk the plank in the season finale. Not only is she disappointed but her #1 fan is very unhappy about these results and decides it's not fair.
Cassidy is the contestant everyone loves, personable, friendly, all around nice person, which makes her the perfect target.
Cassidy has a stalker who not only thinks she should have won, but also that they should be together, what stalker doesn't think that!
Upon arriving home to her job as a personal trainer, and her loving family, she is asked by the local paper to do a follow-up story on the life of Cassidy Novak, local girl makes it on reality show. Now she has a photographer following her around, he's mysterious, handsome, and she knows very little about him! While on the show she has a connection with one of the other competitors, who happens to be engaged! The winner of SOS is the obnoxious Reggie, the guy everyone loves to HATE!
So we have at least 3 potential stalkers or might they be victims of the stalker.
You will enjoy the connection she has with her family, her clients, and her NEW number 1 fan.
There are little twists and turns and ups and downs, and this is really a great book. Great storyline, and written by a fabulous writer!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Book December 23, 2010
Format:Paperback
I had the opportunity to read Ms. Juba's first book (Twenty Five Years Later) back in March and I was incredibly impressed with her writing so I was truly looking forward to her next book. When I was offered the opportunity to read her new book I jumped at the offer. To be honest I actually stopped what I was reading to read her new book Sink or Swim. I was not disappointed! It is about Cassidy, a fitness trainer, who goes on a reality show and finishes second. On returning to the real world she becomes the vicitim of a stalker. I read the book in a single sitting - it had all the key ingredients of a great mystery novel. The characters were interesting, the story was intriguing (and too realistic) but most importantly the writing made you feel as if you were actually part of the story. Be careful of jumping to conclusions on the identity of the stalker. If you love mysteries this is a must read! I will look forward to Ms. Juba's next book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Loved It! December 15, 2010
Format:Paperback
What motivates a stalker? And what do you do once you have one? Cassidy Novak finds out when she goes on a reality TV show. Cassidy hopes to win the million dollar prize so that she can start her own chain of businesses. After the show, she is shocked to find that she has gained a few obsessed fans, as well as a stalker.

With Sink or Swim, Stacy Juba takes a look at our reality TV craze. Whether you enjoy reality shows or not, it's hard to miss the famous and the infamous that these shows create. Sink or Swim takes us behind the scenes and shows us what happens after the cameras have stopped filming.

Stacy Juba has a knack for showing us, rather than telling us, a story. In find myself easily getting lost in her fictional world. This is a fun read, with mystery, suspense and a little romance. And it would make a great movie!

5.0 out of 5 stars another wonderful mystery! January 17, 2011
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
As with the first book, 25 Years Ago Today, I could not put this book down until the end. Well written with real characters that come alive as the story unfolds. Just how paranoid can you get when you know you have a stalker? How can anything be normal in every day life? Considering I got the stalker wrong, you'll be surprised at the twists and turns that will make you second guess the identity of the stalker.

Again, I highly recommend this book to everyone out there who enjoys a good mystery.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great suspense! January 10, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I loved this book! - Great suspense, tight writing, interesting plot, excellent character development. The characters were not perfect, they made mistakes, which made them seem more "real" and I was able to identify with them; very good emotional impact and character growth. I liked the clever play on words of Sink or Swim / SOS throughout the book. I thought the plot events were realistic, and I especially enjoyed the ending. It was refreshing to see a book where the heroine has survived a traumatic experience and realizes her need for therapy to cope with the lingering effects instead of returning to life as if nothing had happened. I found out about this book on kindleboards and it is the first book I have read by this author, but will definitely not be the last!

3.0 out of 5 stars For fans of reality programs March 10, 2012
Format:Paperback
The other reviews will give you the story line so I will dispense with that.

Unlike the other reviewers, I found this novel to be an average read. I did not find the characters to be interesting or intriguing. I simply did not care about any of them.

I am not a fan of reality shows so perhaps I am not the best reviewer on that topic. If you are addicted to reality shows, then you may enjoy this novel.

4.0 out of 5 stars Interesting Study of Stalkers and their targets. September 4, 2011
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
I admit to enjoying a few reality television series like "Dancing with the Stars" and "The Amazing Race." After the ending and the winner has been announced, my husband and I get a cup of coffee and sit down to have a lively speculation of 'what happens next?' History has shown us that even some of the winners of these shows end up unhappily, such as Richard on "Survivor #1", some go on to become 'professional' game contestants. Some, as in this thrilling and chilling novel, find themselves victims of stalkers when reality mixes with the stalkers unreality.

Author Stacy Juba captures several post game scenarios. You can tell Ms. Juba has done considerable research into the subject. Perhaps that is why the book is so scary, Stalkers are real even though they live in non-realistic worlds.

Our victim is 2nd place winner, Personal Trainer, Cassidy Novak. Through this very realistic character we feel the discomfort, then fear, and then chilling terror of being stalked. As Cassidy works with the police to find the culprit, murders of the other contestants begin. Cassidy finds her options diminishing.

This book was very well thought out and I liked the ending because, they tell you the ending. I'll be looking for Ms. Juba's next novel.
