Review

I was so excited to read this book because I loved her previous book, Twenty-Five Years Ago Today, and she did not disappoint! There was action, mystery and romance all tied into one very well-written story. Book-Club-Queen

A wonderful, clever and entertaining distraction. Coffee Time Romance and More

Sink or Swim was an easy read and extremely well written... I would love to see it come out as a movie one day!
- Stephenie LaGrossa, former contestant Survivor: Palau, Guatemala, Heroes vs. Villains

People don't ever know what happens behind the scenes. I thought it was a great read and kept me in suspense.
- Michelle Costa, contestant Big Brother 10

By incorporating well-developed characters, reality TV, murder, mystery, believable dialogue, complex characters, plot twists and a bit of romance all together in a compelling, fast-paced story, Ms. Juba has penned a novel that will keep readers glued to the pages, unable to put it down until they reach the satisfying conclusion.

Sink or Swim, I was honored enough to get an advanced copy of this book and have been dying to write this review.
I started reading it and thought, wow an inside view of the life of a reality "star". I enjoy reality TV, let's see how "tough" their life really is after appearing on TV.
Cassidy has the misfortune of being the "runner-up" and must walk the plank in the season finale. Not only is she disappointed but her #1 fan is very unhappy about these results and decides it's not fair.
Cassidy is the contestant everyone loves, personable, friendly, all around nice person, which makes her the perfect target.
Cassidy has a stalker who not only thinks she should have won, but also that they should be together, what stalker doesn't think that!
Upon arriving home to her job as a personal trainer, and her loving family, she is asked by the local paper to do a follow-up story on the life of Cassidy Novak, local girl makes it on reality show. Now she has a photographer following her around, he's mysterious, handsome, and she knows very little about him! While on the show she has a connection with one of the other competitors, who happens to be engaged! The winner of SOS is the obnoxious Reggie, the guy everyone loves to HATE!
So we have at least 3 potential stalkers or might they be victims of the stalker.
You will enjoy the connection she has with her family, her clients, and her NEW number 1 fan.
There are little twists and turns and ups and downs, and this is really a great book. Great storyline, and written by a fabulous writer!

I had the opportunity to read Ms. Juba's first book (Twenty Five Years Later) back in March and I was incredibly impressed with her writing so I was truly looking forward to her next book. When I was offered the opportunity to read her new book I jumped at the offer. To be honest I actually stopped what I was reading to read her new book Sink or Swim. I was not disappointed! It is about Cassidy, a fitness trainer, who goes on a reality show and finishes second. On returning to the real world she becomes the vicitim of a stalker. I read the book in a single sitting - it had all the key ingredients of a great mystery novel. The characters were interesting, the story was intriguing (and too realistic) but most importantly the writing made you feel as if you were actually part of the story. Be careful of jumping to conclusions on the identity of the stalker. If you love mysteries this is a must read! I will look forward to Ms. Juba's next book.

What motivates a stalker? And what do you do once you have one? Cassidy Novak finds out when she goes on a reality TV show. Cassidy hopes to win the million dollar prize so that she can start her own chain of businesses. After the show, she is shocked to find that she has gained a few obsessed fans, as well as a stalker.

With Sink or Swim, Stacy Juba takes a look at our reality TV craze. Whether you enjoy reality shows or not, it's hard to miss the famous and the infamous that these shows create. Sink or Swim takes us behind the scenes and shows us what happens after the cameras have stopped filming.

Stacy Juba has a knack for showing us, rather than telling us, a story. In find myself easily getting lost in her fictional world. This is a fun read, with mystery, suspense and a little romance. And it would make a great movie!

As with the first book, 25 Years Ago Today, I could not put this book down until the end. Well written with real characters that come alive as the story unfolds. Just how paranoid can you get when you know you have a stalker? How can anything be normal in every day life? Considering I got the stalker wrong, you'll be surprised at the twists and turns that will make you second guess the identity of the stalker.

Again, I highly recommend this book to everyone out there who enjoys a good mystery.

I loved this book! - Great suspense, tight writing, interesting plot, excellent character development. The characters were not perfect, they made mistakes, which made them seem more "real" and I was able to identify with them; very good emotional impact and character growth. I liked the clever play on words of Sink or Swim / SOS throughout the book. I thought the plot events were realistic, and I especially enjoyed the ending. It was refreshing to see a book where the heroine has survived a traumatic experience and realizes her need for therapy to cope with the lingering effects instead of returning to life as if nothing had happened. I found out about this book on kindleboards and it is the first book I have read by this author, but will definitely not be the last!

I'll admit it - I'm a reality show junkie. I love them! Initially that is what drew me to Stacy Juba's novel, Sink or Swim. It's an inside look at a contestant's life after they've come off the show. However, this novel really surprised me and had me flipping pages faster than ever to find out what was going to happen. It's a thriller, mystery and just a plain good read all rolled into one that kept me guessing throughout. Oh and the little smattering of romance was a nice touch too!

Cassidy, a fitness trainer, goes on the reality show Sink or Swim in the hopes of winning the money so she can open up the fitness clubs she's had her heart set on forever. Unfortunately for Cassidy she comes in second and has to walk the plank instead. What the show does do for her though is launch her into being somewhat of a celebrity.

Cassidy returns home to find out she was everyone's favorite contestant. People want to meet her, join the gym where she works and book her for appearances. At first Cassidy thinks this is great way to get herself recognized and hopefully get a stint doing something for sports oriented products - anything to be able to launch her own fitness centers. Even the local tv station has asked to follow her around and do a piece on her. Nothing wrong with that considering how cute the photographer Zach is.

What she didn't bank on is a more than a few crazy people who are interested in her too. First there is the obsessed lady at the gym, one of the former contestants from the show who creeps her out and then there is her stalker. Or is one of these people her stalker?
