Just finished this book - It took me awhile to get through it. I enjoyed the developement of the main characters Sinnamon & Essence but some parts just did not make sense to me.

Then I was disappointed to find that this was a sequel to a book that is not available in print or on Kindle - so I have no background to understand the background of Gage & others mentioned toward the end.

May when the third part is released, it may tie up any loose ends for me or maybe I may leave feeling the same way I did with this.

This was one of the best urban books I have read this year. The author is very talented and has put together a book that is a true page turner. Once Sinnamon and Essence get together there is no stopping them until the very end. I love her relationship with Esco but I want to know how it plays out in the next book. Good job.

Format: Paperback
Sinnamon is forced to take care of herself and her little brother at a very young age due to her mother's heroin addiction. Sinnamon focuses on her studies so that she can go to college, get a good job, and get out of the hood. Sinnamon has always been shy about her appearance until she meets Essence. Essence helps Sinnamon embrace her outer beauty and teaches her how to use her looks to get what she wants. These two young women become fast friends and partners in crime. Essence and Sinnamon begin to reap the monetary benefits of their dubious activities. But Sinnamon and Essence find out that they may have bitten off more than they can chew when a plan goes horribly wrong. Will they continue to take deadly risks to maintain their new lifestyle?

Sinnamon is the sequel to That Was Dirty by Wasiim. Wasiim once again brings a fast-paced storyline with strong and complex characters. Although this is a sequel, you do not need to necessarily read the first book in order to read this one. Sinnamon is a character that you just want to see make it. You see the downward spiral of the risky lifestyle Sinnamon and Essence grow accustomed to and how they try to keep up with it. Wasiim pulls no punches about the consequences that may occur when people choose to go down the illegal path in order to succeed in life. Wasiim does an excellent job of illustrating how people are truly responsible for their own actions. Sinnamon is action packed and thought-provoking. Wasiim once again proves that he can write a novel that entertains as well as educates.

This book was horrible. I could have written a better book. The author focuses too much on naming the designer items that the girl is wearing. The book was pretty predictable and unrealistic. I would not recommend this book to anyone

Well all I can say is I don't remember how I came across this book, but I'm glad that I did cause I definitely added Wasiim onto my list as favorite authors. This was well written and had a good story line that kept me hooked and when it was over I was craving more. Can't wait to purchase "When it hits the Fan" cause I have been waiting for this book since I finished Sinnamon...heck I'm even going backwards to buy the first part of this trilogy cause I know its gonna be good. I'm a fan so I can wait to see what else is coming up
