Sins of the Father is one HOT and SEXY book!,
By
This review is from: Sins of the Father (CD-ROM)
This e-book is a contemporary, for adults only, no purple prose allowed, scorcher of a love story! Jaid Black is a great story teller and she weaves some no-holds-barred romance that tells a wet, lush and juicy story.Candy is not your skinny, model-type girl. For a long time, she has had a secret crush on handsome JD(who CAN get any skinny, model-type girl). JD on the other hand can only see his poor background and thus believes he's reaching for the stars when he secretly yearns for his bosses daughter Candy. The basic premise of this tender yet erotic story is about how they finally fall in love despite the wrong impressions each had of the other. Circumstances (which I'll let you discover for yourself) bring these two lovers together and boy do they know how to get it on! JD and Candy do some sweaty and (cough) educational horizontal moves in the bedroom (...in the pool, in the plane, on the chair) that can teach even the most jaded (no pun intended!) romance/erotica reader a thing or two.(or three or...) They say dynamite comes in small packages and this is your proof. It's incredible how much "bang" you get from these less than 100 pages. I read this entire book in one sitting as I could not stop reading once I got started. That's also how I knew this spicy book was a definite keeper. It left me VERY satisfied.(but probably not as satisified as Candy and JD!)

Disappointing,
This review is from: Sins of the Father (CD-ROM)
This is my first Jaid Black book. After reading the reviews on it, I expected much. And was a bit disappointed. The plot is fast, so fast that we do not have time to explore much of the two main characters. I would have liked a bit more of background... even if it would have meant a little less of those steamy scenes... In other words, I regret the fact that the romance part is a bit left aside. Is it not suppose to be a "roman"tica?

3.5 Stars For This Romantica.,
By
This review is from: Sins of the Father (CD-ROM)
This is My first Jaid Black romantica. It was really hot, but I was also a little disappointed after reading it.What bothered me most is the way JD treated Candy, which lacked respect and consideration. I don't think enforcing the heroine in the nude for several days and exposing her to other men while she's doing something intimate is romantic. Also the anal sex...that was a turn off to me. Over all a lot of lust but not so much love. I've tried her "Tremors" which was much better. Also hot and erotic but sweeter.

Two new ones, one old one,
By Julia Boonfate "juliaboonfate" (Waldkraiburg) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Notorious (Paperback)
We get two new stories and an old one. The first has been published before, but still it is the best of the three.
The second one: The Hunger: The story of Elizabeth Batory with a new twist. Sad to say that I missed some of the steam and ideas that Black normally uses in her stories. The hero was a bit too tame and the heroine had no special character that I wanted to read about. The third one: Politically Incorrect Stalked: Famous singer gets kidnapped by high school crush. The end is somewhat of a revelation. Here we have the ideas that I love about Jaid Black again. So: get the book for the first story if you haven't gotten it, yet. Otherwise you can really use the money for better works from Black.

very steamy,
By A Customer
This review is from: Sins of the Father (CD-ROM)
This is one of her shorter stories but probably one of the hottest too. If you want to get a good idea about her steamy writing style without investing too much time or money this one will do it. I also pick The Empress New Clothes, the death row series, and The Possession as favorites. Really they are all good but those are my favorites.

The vampire story was the best of the three. It was pretty good. The other two stories were ok.,

This review is from: Notorious (Paperback)
This book contains three stories by Jaid Black.
4 stars for THE HUNGER. This is a vampire story, but it is slightly different from other vampire stories. It was creatively done. I liked it. This tells of how the first vampire was created, her lifestyle and habits, and how others try to stop her. One male vampire fighting against her falls in love with a human who helps him fight her. Data: Sexual language: erotic. Number of sex scenes: six plus. Setting: Mesopotamia (Iraq), Vienna, Austria, and Italy: 7012 BC, 1610 AD and present day. Copyright: 2006. Genre: erotic paranormal romance. 3 stars for SINS OF THE FATHER. Pretty good. Candy inherits her father's business which is the sole support for her mother and brother. James does a takeover of it. He gives her a contract that states she must marry him, obey him in all ways, etc. If she does not, then he will not support her mother and brother through the business. Data: Sexual language: erotic. Number of sex scenes: nine. Setting: current day Atlanta, Georgia, and a private island off the coast of Costa Rica. Copyright: 2002. Genre: erotic contemporary romance. 3 stars for POLITICALLY INCORRECT: STALKED. Regina had a crush on Adam as a teenager. Regina becomes a pop singing star. Adam and his brother John kidnap her and tie her up. Data: Sexual language: erotic. Number of sex scenes: four plus. Setting: present day rural America. Copyright: 2003. Genre: erotic contemporary romance. OTHER BOOKS: For a list of my reviews of other Jaid Black books, see my 5 star review of "One Dark Night" posted 4/2/08.

Waste of time and money,

Even though this "book" was only around 50 pages in pdf format, it was still a waste of time to read. There was no plot or backstory whatsoever.

I love Ms. Black!,
This review is from: Notorious (Paperback)
3.5 Ok. I will admit. I like a man in charge. So this novella's first story was exactly what I needed. In story one, Sins of The Father, we are introduced to Candy and JD. He blackmails her into marrying him and being his submissive and their love affair begins. WOW. I love sexually charged romances so I'm a fan. Story two, The Hunger, was a little too Dracular-ific for me, which is why I had to deduct a half star from the overall review. Count Dario Giovanni goes on a rescue mission to save his sister from an evil vampiric mistress. He becomes a victim of her circumstance and fast forward to present day and he finds his true love, but will his fangs stay in the way of true love? Ok move on to story three, Political Incorrect: Stalked, again not my favorite because it's kind of a fantasy but you don't find out its a fantasy bit till the end so... I had to deduct a full point for this one. Essentially this pop idol is kidnapped by two obsessed fans who want to play out all their sexual adventures with her. So all in all, its a pretty good read... Especially for the first story. Jaid has better stories, but if you can get a used copy, have at it. Happy reading everyone!

I read the reviews purchased the book only to realize that it was only one of the short stories in another book called Notorious which most of the reviews are based on. This is a short story and therefore brief but ir really seems more like an outline for antoher story. Disappointed and that i the first time i can really say that about this author. so the stars are more for the author than the story.
