5.0 out of 5 stars Worth Reading Again And Again
I first read this book years ago and have re-read it several times. It is one of my favorites!
The characters and story are spell binding...a book that sucks you in and doesn't let go until the last word. An absolute must read!

1.0 out of 5 stars Not so good
This book (to me) was not believable or compelling in the slightest. I couldn't get into the characters at all. I don't usually say this about books...but it wasn't worth the time invested to read it!

4.0 out of 5 stars GREAT FIRST OF TWO BOOKS, September 21, 2010
Fern Michaels wonderfully sweeps you into the lives of two best friends (Reuben and Daniel) from France to Hollywood. Rescued during the war by Madam Mickey, Reubin falls in love with Mickey after both friends are taken to her lavish chateau. Along comes Mickey's young niece (Bebe) and along comes seduction and betrayal. Is it all about love or all about money as you go through this well-executed book and follow the characters along? A powerful book and if you enjoy this book, the second SINS OF THE FLESH is even better!

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful Wonderful Wonderful!, January 28, 1999
By A Customer
What can I say about Sins of Omission but that it is truly wonderful along with Sins of the Flesh, both by Fern Michaels. What a great story. You laugh & cry but you don't put either down until read. A must have.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic, November 1, 2010

What a wonderful find. Glad I had a cold weekend with nothing to do, because I started book one Sins of Omission on Friday, and Finished book two Sins of the Flesh this AM. The last 1/3 of Sins of the Flesh had me in tears.

Starts in WWI France, wanders to Hollywood then back to France. This takes place through the 20's. Sins of the Flesh starts where the first leaves off, and goes through WWII. The description of the Resistance Fighters and what they went through brought me to tears more than once.

War, Hollywood's early years, Love, Dissappointment, a drug addict in the family, then on to WWII, finding old loves, a daring rescue or two.

Was very surprised, especially after being disappointed in the last of the sisterhood, and the new Godmothers

I am a long time fan of Fern Michaels and don't know how I missed this one as it is not new.

I found myself talking back to the characters and found it hard to put the book down. Now, I am going to read the sequel.

This was the best book I've read in some time. The story line was excellent, even though things did not go as I would have liked, but that's what made it soooooooo good. I'm reading Sins of the Flesh now and I know it will be just as good.

4.0 out of 5 stars Contemporary or historical?, February 14, 2011

This book started out a little slow, but was harder to put down as I got into it. It was about the life and loves of 2-3 people starting in 1917. I did not know this was a historical novel when I bought it, as I'm not fond of them. However, this seemed more contemporary to me. It starts out during the war in France, but thankfully there isn't much about the war in it. It is mostly a love story between an older woman and a younger man, and how a nasty/mean/conniving teen girl plots to keep them apart. It was an excellent story in 3 segments (different years). Fern really makes her characters come alive with all her details. This is a long book so you aren't likely to read it in one day.

The negatives - There wasn't much historical correctness in this book. The author didn't do enough research about life and conveniences in that era, in my opinion. She used the word 'beatific' a couple of times, which is barely acceptable now, let alone in 1918. Also I was disappointed in the ending. The characters never did learn everything that was being withheld from them. So as soon as I finished it, I had to download the sequel "Sins of the Flesh". A good read, tho.
