4.0 out of 5 stars Very Good Relief
Most people reading this are bound to be curious as to what exactly this is / does. I know I was. 2.0 out of 5 stars Get NeilMed NasaFlo Daily Nasal Hygiene System instead
I had great difficulty in using the SinuCleanse product and found the NeilMed NasaFlo Daily Nasal Hygiene to be vastly superior.

The Neti pot that comes with the SinuCleanse has a very narrow spigot and it doesn't make a good seal with my nostril. As a result, I good deal of the solution frequently leaked out before going into my nose. I tried everything...

Most people reading this are bound to be curious as to what exactly this is / does. I know I was. Basically, you pour a saline solution up one nostril which (if you keep breathing through your mouth -- a mistake I made only once!) will come out of the other nostril, irrigating and cleaning it of most irritants and other things. It's very good for allergies, colds, and anything that has to do with the nasal passages.

The first time I used this, honestly, I felt like an idiot with salt water coming out of my nose. Now, after a few tries, it's second nature and relieves me of most of my sinus problems including allergies.

This is a good neti pot since it is dishwasher safe and tough to break, but you might want to consider making your own solution once the packets are used up-- just make sure you use non-iodized salt (there are good recipes for solution available on the web -- just google "neti pot solution").

Use and enjoy breathing better!

5.0 out of 5 stars Worth every penny, March 31, 2006
I rarely write reviews but couldn't miss the chance to champion this product. Over a year ago a natural health practitioner had told me to try a neti pot for my terrible allergies and chronic sinus problems, but I thought it was just one of those New Age fads or something. In the last few years my allergies have gotten so bad that I can only breathe through my mouth most of the time. I decided today to give this a try. I can see it's going to take some getting used to, but after only two washes I can't believe the difference. I can completely inhale through my nose for the first time in months, if not years. Not to gross anyone out, but the amount of crud that was washed out of my sinuses was both amazing and satisfying - proof that it works. I can see why people are raving about this product, it accomplished in one day what antihistamines, drops, breathing strips etc. have not done for me in years, and without ANY side effects or risks. Already I feel so much more energetic, that's because I'm finally getting the full benefit of oxygen! It is a tad uncomfy I'll admit, rather like the sensation of accidentally inhaling water in your nose in the pool. Then for awhile afterwards, the nose and sinuses are still draining so you need to keep a tissue handy. Small inconvenience for the luxury of air. Those who have chronically stuffy noses know what I mean.

After seeing Dr. Oz on Oprah with the "nose bidet" (aka neti pot) I decided to try it and ordered it here. I've suffered with sinus problems and allergies all my life.

I can't say this is an earthshattering change BUT I've been able to stop taking my prescription nasal steroid spray AND my morning antihistamine - I still take a Benadryl at night but I'm thrilled to be able to cut way back on prescription outlay.

It's a rather strange feeling to pour water into your sinuses, but you do get used to it. You also have to get a feel for what water temperature you prefer - I've done both too hot and too cold and it's not a pleasant feeling! ;-) But now that I have the hang of it, I'm pleased with the results and will continue using it daily!

2.0 out of 5 stars Get NeilMed NasaFlo Daily Nasal Hygiene System instead, November 29, 2007
This review is from: SinuCleanse Nasal Wash System, Plastic Neti Pot With Salt Packets (Health and Beauty)

I tried everything to fix it, including using vaseline on the tip.

In contrast, the spigot on the Neti pot with the NeilMed system has a tapered end and it fits perfectly and snugly to my nostril, and their is no spillage whatsoever. I highly reccomend the NeilMed as an alternative to the SinuCleanse system.

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing Sinus Relief!, March 21, 2005
By
W. M. Davis (Las Vegas, NV United States) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
I live in Las Vegas, Nevada, a city located in a bowl-shaped valley that traps every known airborne allergen and has winds that keep it all stirred up. I have been using a number of over-the-counter sinus sprays and medications for a few years, sometimes well over their recommended dosage, just to be able to breathe. A conversation with a co-worker led me to purchase the SinuCleanse system. After one treatment I was amazed by how much more open my sinuses felt and an effect that nobody else has mentioned, my sense of smell was much more acute. After a few days of using the pot for twice-daily irrigation, I am more than convinced! This is an amazing therapy that has been around for centuries for good reason. If you suffer from allergies or just live in a high dust or pollutant area, you owe it to yourself to try it too.

5.0 out of 5 stars Why didn't I buy this sooner????, November 18, 2005
By
I previously read about neti pots but was too afraid to give it a try. Last week I was suffering from major nasal congestion and was willing to do anything for relief. Instead of ordering a neti pot over the internet and waiting days for it to arrive, I went to my local drugstore to get the Sinuscleanse system. While it was a bit weird for me, I wish I would have discovered this system a long time ago. I had immediate relief from my nasal congestion and called everyone I knew to tell them about my new discovery.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wahooo! Shove It Up My Nose...It works!, January 23, 2008
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: SinuCleanse Nasal Wash System, Plastic Neti Pot With Salt Packets (Health and Beauty)
Well, now when my daughter told me how great it worked for her, I was skeptical, but she convinced me to purchase this little nose strangler, mouth suffocater and eye waterer. I went to several local pharmacies and other stores but they were unable to keep it stocked. What did I do? Go to Amazon...where else?

I got it several days later and tried it. Was I prepared for the outcome? NO! What the most trying thing is to breathe through your mouth...sounding like a drowning cat wallering in mud...while yuck travels like the speed of light through one side of your nostril and out the other.

However, my eyes watered, but I continued, and I spit and sputtered while mastering the breathing technique. Whatever you do, don't swallow the salty stuff...it will gag you to death...or, let's just say, it did me!

By gum, it worked and now it has become a daily ritual for me. I am here to tell you, I have never breathed so well in all my life. If you make one investment in alleviating sinus problems and breathing difficulties...buy this product.

It comes with many pouches of saline solution but please follow the instructions. It tells you to use a half packet the first time, and that is what I did with almost warm water. If you have inflamed nostrils from continued conjestion, don't use a full packet of saline solution. It will burn the delicate tissues inside the nose, and the taste will linger in your mouth, and odor in the nasal cavities.

As I said, this product is worth the money.

5.0 out of 5 stars Gross but great, February 28, 2007
I just bought and started using this product. My least favorite thing is the feeling of water up the nose and so I was VERY hesitant about using this. I am suffering from my 5th sinus infection this winter and was willing to try anything. IT ISN'T BAD!!!!! It doesn't feel anything like accidentally snorting water and doesn't hurt a bit. Try it!

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Sinus Relief Ever, January 22, 2007
I thought that sinus problems were going to be part of my life forever. I was getting desperate to find something to relieve the pressure and stumbled across reviews for SinuCleanse. I watched the vidoe posted on the company's website to learn how to use it and find out some more info on the product. The very first time I used it, it cleared up about 75% of the pressure going on in my sinuses. Now, i use it twice a day regularly and can't stop raving about it. The only problem I had with it is that it is a little large for my nostril, but what a small price to pay for something so wonderful.

After seeing it on Oprah, I thought it was worth a shot. At first I felt silly trying to figure out how to use this contraption. But even after the first try, I felt very clear. I suffer from constant allergies and sinus infections, so anything to avoid them works for me. Anyhow, from my experience it really works. It clears out my nostrils and I breathe so much easier. I highly recommend this product to anyone that wants to breathe a little better :o)
