I really love this product. I was searching for something all or mostly natural to use for my 2 1/2 year old son who has chronic sinus problems. He gets sinus infections a lot and it ends up as bronchitis (this Christmas it turned into pneumonia). So, after researching and reading the reviews here I decided to try Sinupret.

It made a big difference within the first day. He was breathing more easily, the congestion was less, he slept better at night (he had been waking frequently coughing), and overall I was optimistic. Over the next few days I saw more improvement.

But then I had a question; how long do I give this to him?

On the box it lists the ingredients and the dose you should give based on your child's age. That's it. Nothing in the box, no other information. I had to get back online and do a lot more research.

Any other parents who decide to use this product I thought this might be helpful

Duration: 7 days. If you don't see a big improvement after that, your child should be seen by a doctor because their condition is not clearing up on its own. It is not reccommended you use this longer than 7 days.

Dosage: You can go by the doseage chart on the box but I would say to lean on the side of caution. Each child is different. I have twins and one is much more sensitive to medications (even natural remedies) than the other. Starting with half the dose it lists for your child and watching how they react to it first is perfect.

How often: It says to give it to your child 3 times a day. Again...caution. I started my son on this twice a day and he was recovering from a sinus infection.

My husband, who is a teacher, brought home a terrible cold and gave it to my 14 month old and my 2 1/2 year old. Thick yellow snot, couldn't breathe through their little noses. I gave the Sinupret Kids to my 2 1/2 year old and she got better almost immediately. My younger daughter was too young (recommended for 2 to 11 years) and stayed very sick for over two weeks! My husband was taking dayquil and also stayed sick for two weeks until he started taking the adult sinupret which he said made a huge difference and he got better too. That's been my only experience thus far but I am sold! I am ordering more for the cold season! It's all natural herbs and that really makes me feel good about giving it to my family. I'm looking forward to my little one being able to take it when she is sick so she doesn't have to be so miserable!

Like many parents, we were concerned when it was announced that children under age the age of four should no longer be given over-the-counter cough and cold remedies. Although we were still getting hit hard during cold and flu season, there was nothing we could administer for some reflief. Imagine how excited we were to find Sinupret for Kids - a natural remedy for healthy sinus, respiratory and immune support.

Specifically, Sinupret promotes healthy drainage in the upper respiratory tract, improves airflow in the nose and supports healthy mucous flow in the nose and sinuses. This syrup has been clinically tested to be a safe remedy, and is doctor recommended. Pediatricians in Europe have given over 3.5 million referrals for Sinupret, and it is used in over thirty-five countries.

I'm thrilled to find a natural product that can help my kids stay healthy. The cherry flavor gives it a good taste (yep, I tasted it), so there were no battles about accepting a dose. I particularly like that the dosage is small - only a half teaspoon for children 2 - 5. We marveled over how tiny the dispenser seemed compared to traditional cough/cold syrups.

Sinupret for Kids is a blend of five herbs: European Elder, Common Sorrel, Cowslip, European Vervain and Gentian. Made with natural and safe ingredients, it has no stimulants, caffeine, ephedra or pseudoephedrine, and no history of dangerous side effects.

I think this is a great alternative to traditional medicines and would definitely recommend it. Bionorica has a plethora of great information on their site, if you need to read more about it before giving it a try. This is a simple and effective solution for our family, in the healthiest manner possible.

My toddler son gets unbelievably "mucousy" when he gets a cold. This mucus then goes right to his chest and causes much havoc. EVERY time he gets a cold, I wish, "If only they had some type of approved decongestant for toddlers, he probably wouldn't have to get this sick." FINALLY, I have found something that 1) you can purchase for toddlers and 2) actually works! I purchased this after seeing it recommended by Dr. Sears.

We've only used it with one illness so far, but it was a bad one. I was at wits end at 3AM one night and in a total Mom panic mode after having my 3-year-old up gagging on excessive mucus for 1.5 hours straight, so, I gave this a try and I swear, within 20 minutes, everything had settled and he slept like a baby for the rest of the night. It was honestly like magic.

I typically don't go by negative reviews where the person tries something one time and then gives it one star beause it didn't help. There are a lot of illnesses out there. Not sure this will help with the flu or something along those lines; however, I have one data point to say that it certainly helped with a serious head/upper respiratory type cold. Also, my primary hesitation with actually using it was due to some of the reviews on the dangers of giving children ethyl alcohol (which is in here). If you dig further into those reviews you will find their concerns are unfounded and the statements are exaggerated, given the actual amount of alcohol in a dose. It was, however, very difficult to ignore all of the very positive reviews. When that many people like a product, it usually is somewhat effective at the very least.
