The SiPix StyleCam Extreme digital camera offers a 2.1-megapixel CCD sensor and intuitive point-and-shoot design. It's the ideal take-along camera that allows you to capture sharp and colorful pictures and digital video at events, parties, traveling or sightseeing.

The 2.1-megapixel resolution captures 1600 x 1200 pixel images for print enlargements up to 8 x 10 inches. The StyleCam Extreme features a smooth 4x digital zoom, macro mode for extreme close-ups, movie mode (without sound), and a 1.6-inch TFT (transreflective) color LCD monitor. It includes a built-in 16 MB memory, and expandability via Secured Digital (SD) and MultiMedia (MMC) memory cards.

Other features include a 10-second self-timer, auto power off to conserve battery power, an integrated lens cover that automatically turns the camera on and off while protecting the lens from dust and scratches, and a video output feature so you can present pictures and videos on your TV.

The StyleCam Extreme comes bundled with easy-to-use photo and video software from ArcSoft, including PhotoImpression for editing, retouching and adding special effects to photos and VideoImpression for editing AVI video.

The StyleCam Extreme includes a USB cable, camera strap, quick start guide, two AA alkaline batteries, and a CD-ROM containing image and video editing software and drivers for Windows PCs.

Great Camera:
Pros:
- Clear Pics
- Nice & Compact
- (once you get used to the controls) quality pics can be taken, except in the dark
- Very portable - I carry this around in my pocket very easily.

Cons
- No zoom! I admit, my mistake that I did not read up on the differnce between a digital zoom & optical zoom. I wish I could just turn the digital zoom off. If you do 'digitally zoom', it really messes up the picture.
- This doesn't have an eyehole, so you have to see everything through the LCD. Not too bad most of the time, but when its pretty dark, you can't see where the subject of your picture is easily - you have to take two pics - one to use the light from the flash to adjust your camera so that the 2nd one actually takes a picture of what you need.
- There's a 'macro' mode - for really close up shots; but the button for this is on the side of the camera, and the camera switches easily to that (one accidental slide of a finger, and you've changed the camera to macro mode), causing all normal (non-close-up pictuers) to get very blurred. Ruined a few pictures of mine! :(

Overall, I think I can really make good use of this camera if I'd have read the manual in detail before going and using this camera all the way. Very easy to get started though - just turn it on & start clicking! It has quite a few good features, for shots to take when its sunny, auto, etc.. - still have to use these totally though... I've not tested out the video conferencing, I'm guessing it shouldn't be a problem.

Oh yes, I had ordered a few prints of pictures that I took from this camera, and they turned out great! :)

Remember the (practical) no zoom.. - a decently priced camera, for all other usage.

Probably the best thing I can say about this camera is that it's priced fairly. It is very compact and reasonably user-friendly. It is just the thing when you want a small, light-weight camera for taking quick snapshots or the occassional brief (very brief without adding a memory card) movie.

However, manufacturing a camera for this price range means cutting corners. Some of the construction is a bit flimsy, although the main problem is image quality. The pictures are grainy even under the highest quality setting and the best lighting conditions. They aren't horrible, but they are far from great.

If you need a convenient, inexpensive way to take quickie shots and get them to your computer fast, this camera does the job quite well and for a fair price. It's ideal if you need pictures for online auctions, damage photos for an insurance claim, or a way to humiliate your friend who had a bit too much to drink at the party and did something stupid with a lamp shade. If you want lasting vacation photos or portraits of the kids, you should be considering a different digital camera - and a far different price range.

This little camera is great for the person wanting a small, good resolution camera at a good price. The video isn't great. It doesn't zoom. There no audio and you pretty much have to buy the memory card to record anything over 1-2 minutes. It has a timer on it which is nice so you can take picture with people. The flash is BRIGHT. It takes the best pictures in the light. Dark rooms are decent with the flash but you only get what you're shooting at, no background. But I can't stress enough how much you get for [the price]. This is a great camera for traveling.
