I know very little about wine, other than I like it and want to learn more. This was a great "starter" book to help me gain some knowledge. Easy to read; uncomplicated information; very helpful to begin my wine education!

Laurie Forster, aka The Wine Coach, has hit the nail on the head (or the cork on the bottle) with her newest book, "The Sipping Point: A Crash Course in Wine!" This gem is by far one of THE best educational books on the market today for teaching wine novices (and connoisseurs alike) how not to look like a complete fool when ordering wine at high-end restaurants; pairing food and wines correctly; and even how to remove nasty red wine stains and avoid dreaded hangovers after a night of imbibing.
Once you've read this amazing book, you'll be able to order wine like a sommelier AND be able to choose an amazing bottle of wine for gift giving as well. Just don't forget to buy a few additional copies of this great book to give the hostess as well! Definitely a 5 star choice and a fun book to read!

I just used this book at dinner the other night. We ordered a great bottle of wine and I often hold the glass in my fingers. Not any longer. The appropriate holding is at the stem. And we used the sommelier to guide us in our wine choice. There are many helpful hints and reminders in this small guide. Easily readable suggestions put you at ease whether wine tasting, storing or dinner drinking. Thanks for keeping it simple.
