5.0 out of 5 stars #3 for klaatu, March 7, 2009
This review is from: Sir Army Suit/Endangered Species (Audio CD)
these albums took KLAATU in a much more pop direction than the first 2 albums which were much more progressive like than these.both albums have an even amount of good and bad.stand out tracks are ALL GOOD THINGS about the loss of a dog, that only rivals paul mccartney in accostic little stories under 2 mins long.KNEE DEEP IN LOVE,I CANT HELP IT all from endangered spieces .ROUTINE DAY an 80s like GOOD DAY SUNSHINE.DEAR CHRISTINE an beautiful ballad.OLDER a rocker EVERBODY TOOK A HOLIDAY
an interesting story about a fictional 1985 all from SIR ARMY SUIT.the sound quality of this release is outstanding.but on the negative the packaging the liner notes are again horrid.still the bullseye canda releases are better.

I have been looking for this album for at least 15 yrs, and Amazon is the first place I found it. The album quality was great and was packed along with 2 albums, not just one for a price that was half of what I pay for a single album in the store. You can't beat that anywhere! I called many so called hard to find album stores and nobody carried or heard of the band. It is a rare album/CD. It was delivered promply in perfect condition. Thanks Amazon!

This is a great CD package!... I keep listening to it over and over... A must have for the TRUE KLAATU fan... However, It isn't musically progressive, or even as good as the KLAATU debut... which is by far their very best work overall... On CD, the Bullseye label, KLAATU re-mixed Debut version is widely available... it's called "347 Est." It's Fantastic! Just in the slim chance you don't know of it... It's a sort of Time Capsule of various musical styles of Rock/Pop... the most varied song variety of any CD I've ever heard. It's so good because the band spent 3 full years writting and producing it... But KLAATU-HOPE is the 'leftover' stuff they couldn't use on the debut... and thankfully too, because Klaatu-HOPE is mediocre at best... HOPE reeks of contract obligations... it sounds like they recorded, and produced it in only 3 months, as compared to the 3 YEARS of their GREAT debut. It figures because HOPE originally came out in the USA a few months later that same year as the debut had... trying to follow the success of the debut. In the 1970's I had given up on KLAATU because of how pathetic KLAATU-HOPE was. Then last year I decided to buy this 2 CD package of SIR ARMY SUIT/ENDANGERED SPECIES... My first thought after first listening to it was, 'is this really KLAATU?'... It's so POP oriented... some songs are remenensent of the early BEATLES, the MONKEYS, ETC... But with that said, it IS still really GOOD!...especially SIR ARMY SUIT... Overall, a GREAT CD package... I could say a whole lot more, but I'll let you get it to find out for yourselfs... It's really too bad this underrated band didn't get more radio hits on the air... then they might still be a band even today... but all bands break up sooner or later anyway.
