Malcolm Arnold was one of the most prolific composers of the 20th century. Creating works for the stage, film, and pure audio medium, many of his tunes are familiar to fans of English classical music. This 2-disc set is a collection of some of his famous works, including folk dances from the British isles to film score music. This music can be considered as in the Romance classical genre, certainly at the end of it, with themes and structure similar to other English Romance composers such as Elgar, Holst and Vaughan-Williams. Nothing extraordinarily great here, just good music to put in the background while reading a book or taking a nap.
