La sirenita sin voz (The little mermaid without a voice) is a beautiful coming of age story about a 12 year old deaf-mute girl who is able to reconnect with her keen thorugh her relationship with a turtle on a Caribbean. Themes such as growing up in a foreign place, wanting to belong, the bad guys against the good kids, 2 kids from different marriages having to live together, an inter-racial marriage, kids from diverse backgrounds, all this is the backdrop of Anai's story. This book is being developed into a feature film by Isla Films in Puerto Rico.
