Devyn Quinn lives in the scenic Southwest, though she has called several other states home. She is a huge fan of dark gothic music & shoot-'em-up action movies.
Having published through traditional channels, Devyn got fed up with the antiquated New York system & decided to head into indy publishing with MojoCastle Press (www.mojocastle.com). Beginning in 2014, she will be releasing new work. She is also planning to reissue her former NY titles with fresh material & smoking hot cover art. More exciting is the forthcoming "Ocean Deep" mermaid series, which will tell more tales of the Mer. The Kith & Kynn, Eternity, and Wildcat series' will also be continued with new books.

Siren's Desire, Dark Tides #3, by Devyn Quinn Grade: B-
"Forget the tail part of me, okay? I've a much nicer ass."
Mason McKenzie has spent his life in the Navy and is finally a captain and in charge of a top secret mission that could make or break his career. The government has discovered a new island in the Mediterranean Sea that one day was just there and it is inhabited by the mermaid queen Magaera. Queen Magaera wants mermaids to rule the world again and it's Mason's job to stop her at any cost. To help with the mission the government has decided to use one of the three mermaids they discovered living among humans Addison Lonike.
Addison Lonike and her two sisters Tess and Gwen grew up in Maine never really knowing about their powers as mermaids. Addison is determined to stop Queen Magaera after the queen kidnaps Tess her eldest and pregnant sister. Joining Mason and his crew adds a whole new set of problems for Addison. She helps discover a race of mere men that no one knew about and she is highly attracted and drawn the sexy captain in charge of the mission. With Mason she must find her sister and help stop the mer queen from enslaving the world without losing her heart in the process.
Let me start this review by saying I love mermaids. Some of my friends make fun of my obsession with them but I don't care I love them. The one aspect of my mermaid love that I have found difficult is that I have yet to find a mermaid book or series that is really good. I was really hoping that i had finally found a great mermaid series with Siren's Desire but I was left bored and the story and characters never blew me away like I wanted them to.Read more ›
The three Lonike sisters tried to hide in Port Rock, Maine from the deadly mermaid queens, but their efforts failed as each became embroiled in the dispute between the humans and the mer. However, Gwen (see Siren's Surrender) and Tessa (see Siren's Call) have since found love.
The US Navy obtains the assistance of the third sibling Addison. They want her to negotiate a peace agreement with Queen Magaera who recently crossed the divide into the human realm with plans to establish a Mediterranean kingdom. Addison and Navy Captain Mason McKenzie are attracted to one another, but besides dealing with the queen, a race of male sea-shifters has surfaced with their leader desiring the last unattached Lonike sister as his chosen one.
The final Dark Tides oceanic romantic fantasy is a super finish to a stupendous saga in which the key to the series is the belief that the Siren and Mer species exists. Fast-paced from start to the finish, readers will enjoy the third Lonike sister's escapades in love, tide and adventures as Devyn Quinn casts a charming spell on her audience.
This third book in the series was so wonderful. I'm so glad I tried a new author and found a story so different yet compelling. I loved getting to know some of the original characters from book one and two. I know I am going to look at other books Devyn has written.

Fantastic 3rd book in the series. The story totally captivated me with excitement of the romance between the mermaid Addison and the Navy Captain Mason. Their chemistry and bantering was entertaining.
The story's plot was more than romance, it had mystery and thriller elements when it came down to the blood shed between the humans and the rogue mermaid Queen Magaera. The mystery behind the stones that gave the mermaid's power was very interesting and their coldness in how they treated humans was bone chilling which added a thrill to the read.
I loved the closure this 3rd book gives towards the lost city of the mer folks with Addison taking control in the end. I loved the new discovery of the Nyx (shape-shifting dolphin/merman) and the history behind them.
It was great to read about all 3 sisters and see them get a happy ever after with their mates. It even made me smile to read about the future babies to come. Over all it was an exciting and enjoyable read. I only wanted more in the end and hope there will be another book added to this series so we can learn more about the mer folk.
