Ever since the first time I watched this movie I fell in love with it. Of course I saw the original three part series with subtitles. I have been searching for it everywhere and I finally decided to buy "Forever My Love". This movie, though shortened, still has charm but cannot compare to the original version. I have finally found where they sell it for those who are interested. You have to read the subtitles but I find that Romy's original voice and enthusiam cannot be replaced. The first time I saw this movie entitled "Forever My Love" was about 35 years ago when I was attending elementary school in the Philippines. About a month ago, we just happened to talk about good classic movies and the movie suddenly came to my mind. I spent a lot of effort searching for the movie and when I got it, I couldn't help but watched it three times within a week. The movie is awesome. It is a drama full of charm, grace, beauty, decency and the characters played their roles with finesse. Costumes, which are elegant and selected with good taste became more enhanced with the beauty of breathtaking sceneries. It's fascinating to know that this fairy-tale-style movie actually happened in real life in the persons of very famous heads of a dynasty. The movie includes a little of government politics and history too. For me, I consider the movie very educational too because I ended up making further research about the life of Sissi and Franz. I would advise the viewing of this movie to everyone. I know that a lot of people who have seen "Sissi - Forever My Love", which is a condensed version of the original movie, would love to see the full version (UNCUT, in DVD format, and most of all ENGLISH-DUBBED).

I LOVE this movie! It's the ultimate chick flick and I'm so glad I finally found it in English. This movie has everything a girl would want except for the uncut DVD set. America needs to get with the program as this is already a classic in Europe.

I grew up watching this movie and I would watch it every day I came home from school. It is the most romantic movie I have ever seen and I could not imagine that they could capture everything by condensing it to one vidoe. I would have LOVED to buy it if all three parts were available. I decided to not buy it because of that reason. I would love to find out when all three would be available.

This is by far the most romantic movie I have ever seen. I just can't get tired of this one. The actors are a perfect match for their roles. The only reason I didn't give this one 5 stars is because it's the cut version. You just can't fit all of the charm of the original trilogy into one cut version. What a shame! I would recommend this movie to anyone who loves romance, drama and comedy -- this movie offers a little of everything. But I do wish there was a full version 3-set DVD dubbed in English, because I would love to show it to my children and friends, too. All I have is an old taped copy in German. And that's the only reason I didn't buy this tape and also why I didn't give this one 5 stars. It's just not as good as the original.

As many of the other reviewers I have also seen this trilogy as a child (over and over and over again!). But then, the copies at the video stores started to get ruined and I found out no one in Brazil (where I live) had the rights to release the movies again.

On a trip to Germany and Austria I meant to buy them in VHS (this was 5 years ago, pre-DVD) and I kept seeing them in every store but in the PAL-G color system, not compatible with NTSC (you can imagine how frustrated I was!!!).

About 3 years ago during a trip to the US, I found on the internet a company in the sold them in NTSC.... After all those years, I was able to take home the 3 complete movies! I might say, it was the high point of my trip to the US! At the time, they were the exclusive US distributors, so you should check with them on how to purchase.

A tip: get them in German! I know Americans are not used to subtitles, but movies just lose a lot of their charm when dubbed. A lot of an actor's interpretation is in the tone of voice.

These movies inspired me to start learning German so I would be able to get a lot of the non-translated information. Today I am in my 9th semester of German studies and I enjoy it a lot (if you show the movies to your children, you might inspire them to learn a foreign language too). Also, it inspired me to get to know Austria and more of its 1000-year history. I went there in 98 and saw all the Sissi-stuff live (her bedroom, her clothes, the carruages, the palaces... all for real!).

Luckly for me, in Brazil we already have all the Sissi movies in DVD - you will be amazed with how beautiful the colors are! Keep your fingers crossed for someone to release them in the US!

When I heard that a lots of parts were cut, I got very upset. I wish I could find the whole story. I saw the original in French and I just want to share it with my English friends.
This is the best romantic movie I ever seen and if all the parts were included in this video, I would buy it in a heart beat.
Please make the full version in English.

When I found out that there was another movie of Sissi and Romy Schneider, called Forever My Love, I was really very excited. Now, I know that there is only a condensation of the three original movies about this romantic woman. I think that it is worth to have the original movies in one DVD someday because the story is beautiful, the actors great and the soundtracks very nice.

I've seen this movie about 3 years ago and I liked it very much. So as soon as I saw it at Amazon I bought it (they advertise it as being the "full version" video). Let me tell you what you buy: it's the 140 minutes (out of 320 minutes) version !! You can imagine how good this version is if more than half of the movie is cut off. I have returned my copy but I think they should post a warning regarding this fact next to the video. Anyway, my first review didn't make it to print, hope to see this one out.

I was excited when I recently saw on HMV a 3 box set of this movie, so I ordered it. I do not speak German and my French is High School. It said that the set was dubbed. I thought to English. Wrong ! It was dubbed to French. I had to return it. I have not seen these since the fifties when I was a little girl and would love to have either on DVD or VHS the English subtitled or dubbed FULL version. Please, can someone provide this ?
I cannot imagine condensing it to 1/3. This was an entrancing series and both leads were luminous.
