I'm loving my SistahFaith. I am blessed to be a contributing writer of two stories included in SistahFaith. Confession is Good for the Soul and Amazed by Grace. I'm a proponent of Revelations 12:11, We overcome by the blood of the Lamb and the word of our testimony. As I'm reading through my sistahs' stories, I see that's yet another thing we all have in common. It feels like home! The masks are going, going, gone! Excuse me while I shout GLORY!!!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars SistahFaith Explosion, February 8, 2010

Finally! A book that women all over the world can relate to. Finally a book that I can relate to! No cover ups, no pretenses, just pure thoughts and words of the pains and joys of being a woman. I would recommend this book not only as a healing process but as a life long process in understanding that through brokeness comes restoration!

SistahFaith shatters the thoughts that we as women often have, which is to feel alone in our suffering. This book reaches out to us all in allowing us to surrender that thought process and to embrace that we are indeed not alone and we do not need to suffer alone. Rise up my sisters! Restoration is on the way!

5.0 out of 5 stars Circle of Sistahs of Great Faith, May 1, 2010
This review is from: SistahFaith: Real Stories of Pain, Truth, and Triumph (Paperback)
Author Marilyn Griffith, along with other sisters, in search of sisterhood, healing, unconditional love and deliverance, have come together in SistahFaith to share their stories that glorify God, lift one another, and other women who will be encouraged and enlightened, and can ultimately experience all that God has for them divinely through their testimonies.

Each story in Sistah Faith is true, as these women of faith lay bear their hearts to help not just themselves, but other women who may have gone through what they have, or may be in the midst of the same pain...the truth is, they can experience triumph despite their horrific circumstances. Stories detailing the pain and the poetry that flowed beautifully within the chapters were wonderful and uplifting. The structure of each story was woven drawn from the Biblical character, Tamar. Readers are taken on a journey from the pain, the shame and the scars to forgiveness and healing.

The poem, Let Me Laugh, by Wanda J. Burnside asks the Lord to laugh no matter what we have been through or may be going through. Dr. Gail M. Hayes's chapter, Perfection, touched my heart, yet she shared how God intervened in her plans to end it all, comforting her with the promise that He will perfect all that concerns her. Stephanie L. Jones shared, What If... I Had Never Been Sexually Abused? It is not unusual to ask, "what if" questions, but God answered with love, forgiveness and His Word.

Sistah Faith begins with the search of sisterhood, something I believe most women consider to be valuable in their lives, and so Author Griffith takes us through the selection process, making suggestions so that we can experience God's precious deliverance together as sisters in Christ. Each chapter has discussion questions that will be a tremendous help to any sistah circle.

I enjoyed Sistah Faith immensely and recommend this book to women everywhere, as well as to women's groups, particularly in the household of faith.

This review is from: SistahFaith: Real Stories of Pain, Truth, and Triumph (Paperback)
Ecclesiastes forewarns there is NOTHING new under the sun. The violation and betrayal of a girl and woman's innocence is something that has been happening since the beginning of time. The healing and restoration from the shame, hurt and rage that abuse plants can be achieved through an intimate relationship with Christ and assisted with the love, support and faith of your sistah's. This compilation of stories from women who have walked a road similar to Tamar's is a testimony to the victory in life after assault, only experienced through a relationship with Christ.

Griffith has compiled a body of stories from a group of women diverse in lifestyle, status in life and economic background, but similar in triumph. Several stories pierce through my soul and stand out like "I Loved a Boy" by Claudia Mair Burney and "Drowning Must Be a Terrible Way to Die" by Dr. Naima Johnson. There is also poetry and scripture to implant spiritual wisdom and encourage healing and empathy for the hurting woman's heart.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Blessing in Disguise, August 9, 2010
This review is from: SistahFaith: Real Stories of Pain, Truth, and Triumph (Paperback)
I stumbled upon this book on accident. I had been going through a tough time dealing with certain aspects of my life and just reading what these women went through and how they overcame their circumstances by the blood of Jesus Christ was a great help to me. I'm still on the journey to healing but I dont feel alone anymore. Women of all ages suffered from lifes traumas but they didnt remain victims. They trusted God and got back up again. I strongly recommend this book!!! It's the best thing I've done for myself in a while.
