This set is useful for our son's lunch pack. These are easy for a 3 year-old to open and re-close because the lid clips are large enough to grip and do not require a lot of strength.

We got several of these sets (at Sur la Table, not Amazon) as we were surprised at the quality of construction and effective design. We did not know about Sistema products before this. [...]

BPA free (see [...] for health and development issues associated with BPA) - I hope Polypropylene is safe.
Label says it is lead free, and made from "Virgin Polypropylene"

The lid has a o-ring like seal made of rubberized silicone (apparently safe for food and kids) that rests in a gutter around the lid, and this makes it air and liquid tight when the clips are in place.

The bottom of the container has the triangle recycle symbol with 5 and "PP".
I did a little look up since these are made in New Zealand. The Australian/New Zealand Standard AS/NZS ISO 14021:2000 (ISO 14021) regulates the way Au-NZ companies may use these symbols. Here is a reference: [...]
