Still Family after all these years...,
By A Customer
This review is from: Sister Sledge - Live: Greatest Hits (Audio CD)
When pen goes to paper to list the most unique and talented family acts of this century, one would be in error not to mention the premier vocal group of them all - Sister Sledge. Sister Sledge has always been a group that stood for integrity and positivity, as well as musical class. The sisters take their class act to the stage on this live collection. No one can deny their skills after hearing sister Joni bring down the house on her renditions of "Thinking of You" and "Brother, Brother Stop". You'll be running to your nearest church after hearing Debbie search her soul to bring forth "Love of the Lord" and "True Love", as well as dance numbers like "Everybody Dance", which she sings with an intensity that will make you forget the original. This is an awesome collection with some of the sisters biggest hits and a few more treats that you are guaranteed to enjoy. Don't let it pass you by.

This review is from: Sister Sledge - Live: Greatest Hits (Audio CD)
Unlike many artists today, Sister Sledge has managed to take the energy of their hit records right onto the concert stage and prove that they are not just studio artists, but full fledged entertainers. You can tell by the energetic opening number, "Everybody Dance" that these ladies mean business. Singing their hit songs like "He's The Greatest Dancer", "We Are Family" and "Thinking Of You" with audience participation makes you feel as if you are there. They shine best when things slow down as sister Debbie soars vocally on the beautiful "Love Of The Lord" and Joni reaches her vocal peak on her self penned social awareness anthem "Brother, Brother Stop". The band also proves to be more than capable on the closing number, "Lost In Music" as each member showcases their musical skills. Though these sister have not been on the charts in a while, this live collection proves that Sister Sledge is still at the top of their craft.
