I read this book in a weekend, mostly on a round-trip plane ride. It was captivating... the characters were real and easy to relate to. They dealt with their issues and resolved them in ways that the reader can identify with. As the other reviewer states, the Christian and secular themes are presented and woven together perfectly; nothing is overbearing or presented for more or less than it is.
Once you read this book, you'll be anxiously awaiting the next installment, which I believe is out in September. (There is a "preview" of the first chapter of the 2nd book of the trilogy at the end of "The Best Gift".)
If you like Inspirational Romance, read this one... you won't be sorry!

This is going to be one of those trilogies which is unbearable to wait for the next one to arrive at my doorstep! The spiritual and secular issues raised are noteworthy by how the author deals with them. The major characters confront each other and are honest and grow throughout the story. The themes brought forth in this small tome made me think and yet the romantic tale did not get lost in them. Everything about this book was genuine and certainly not predictable. I loved it and highly recommend it! I read it in two days and await #2 and #3 with great anticipation. (Order yourself a copy! You won't regret it! This one is a KEEPER!!!)

The Best Gift by Irene Hannon is a fabulous book. If you like Christian romance this is the book for you. The author does a fantastic job developing these characters and their relationship. It was inspiring to watch these two characters overcome their pasts to find their future. Irene Hannon is definitely a talented author!!

Irene Hannon leaves the reader feeling good about the ultimate in match-making with the three sisters in this series.

This was a very enjoyable, inspirational story. The characters were very likable, and I appreciated the respectful way they interacted with each other. Even though they didn't agree or mix well at first, through compromise and maturity, they learned to get along and grew to care for each other. I enjoy romances where the love develops slowly, beginning as friendship and respect and progressing into something deep-routed and strong. That's truly the "Love-Inspired" way!
