Book Description

November 20, 2006
Unrest is afoot in Emsharra. Genesis and LaMia, two opposing Sisters, are left to their own devices to quash the rebellion. ~~~~~ Guardian Seductress: ~ When the mysterious Genesis shows up at Alex Ryan's condo claiming to have known Alex's mother, warning that his father's death was no accident, and that Glenn Ryan wasn't the target, Alex thinks the woman is stark raving mad. Once Genesis explains that she is not human, and has been watching Alex since he was born, he is certain of it. ~Genesis is Inanna, an ancient race of people who subsist on the energy they regularly siphon from humans through sexual intercourse. But one of their own broke the sacred covenant twenty-eight years ago when she gave birth to the cambion, Alex Ryan. Now, time is running out. A power struggle is afoot in Emsharra, and a major shift is about to occur. The insurgent doesn't want any loose ends threatening her rise to power-mainly the only other blood kin of the current Quna: Alex Ryan and his treasonous guardian, Genesis. * * * * * Predator's Salvation: ~ An intern architect at Ryan and Associates, Mateo Diaz has spent the last year learning his craft under the tutelage of partner Alex Ryan. Alex is the closest thing to family that Mateo has known since losing his own family years ago. But not even Alex has been able to elicit the complete truth behind Mateo's family's death, especially when even Mateo himself is uncertain of the facts. ~ Shadowing the pair responsible for her exile, LaMia Enlil discovers a perfect means to her revenge against Alex and Genesis in Mateo Diaz, her newest target, a carrier of the rarest human energy, spirit-boost, and the only remaining blood-relative of the two males from whom LaMia once sampled the much sought-after kundalini. ~ Someone else, however, has a mean score to settle with LaMia and will not stop until she destroys everything the Inanna cares about, starting with her latest pet: Mateo Diaz.

Editorial Reviews

Review

4 Kisses: "Sisters of Emsharra, Book 1, Guardian Seductress was a great book. It was fun to read and kept me entertained throughout the entire story. Gracie C. McKeever not only paints the picture of a wonderfully creative world but keeps the characters reactions to outrageous circumstances true to life. I couldn't put this one down. The attraction and love that blossoms between Genesis and Alex was hot enough to feed a volcano and was strong enough to stand the tests of time. They came up against many walls during their adventures together that just couldn't stop their combined efforts. I highly recommend this book to anyone who likes a little political intrigue and otherworldly beings with their erotica." —Tara, Two Lips Reviews

4 Cups: "Guardian Seductress is a chill-tingling fantastic read. Ms. McKeever pens a fabulous tale. When Alex was confronted with the woman with hazel eyes, I think I was just as frightened as he was. I kept looking for claw like fingers to jump from the pages. Ms. McKeever fashions a gripping story that this reader enjoyed very much and look for the others in the series." —Cherokee, Coffee Time Romance

4 Blue Ribbons: "Guardian Seductress is a shape-shifting, paranormal, fantasy thrill ride that will keep readers on the edge of their seats. I have read several books by Gracie McKeever and each one has its own appeal. Her writing is creative and readers will love her flair for intrigue." —Angel, Romance Junkies

4 Hearts: "Ms. McKeever has created a vividly imaginative world. A fantastical tale that will resonate long after the last page is turned. This story is hot, hot, hot and any reader that likes fantasy and doesn’t mind explicit language and sex will absolutely love this tale as much as this reviewer did!" —Leah, LoveRomancesandMore.com

More About the Author

Gracie C. McKeever is an author from the Bronx. Aside from several side trips along the way she's lived and worked her entire life in the Big Apple (most of it two train stops away from the House that Ruth built...Go Yanks!)

She has been writing since the ripe old age of seven when two younger brothers were among her earliest, captive audience for various short story readings and performances.

An eclectic and voracious reader whose audience has grown outside of the supportive family members, she's had the great fortune of being able to incorporate two of her favorite passions and talents - reading and writing - as a book reviewer for several online e-zines both as a regular staff member and freelancer.

Her short stories, novellas and poetry have seen exposure in various lit and art magazines and other venues - online and in print. Of particular note, her short story LEAP OF FAITH can be found in Zane's anthology, Caramel Flava 2: Sensuality. Also, heard over the airwaves on KFJC's morning show, Dancing In The Fast Lane With Ann Arbor (Unbedtime Stories) out of Los Altos Hills, CA (NEW LIFE INCOGNITA was the story of the month for March 2000.). She's also proud to be a member of the ("Worlds' Oldest Active Homeless Paper") Street News family and has seen numerous articles, poems and novel excerpts published within its pages as well as having had a poetry reading on Pseudo On-line Network (Street News Review).

In 2001 Gracie caught the erotica bug, sinking her teeth into her first erotica e-book for a review, and hasn't looked back since, an instant affinity for the genre spawning her first erotica title, BENEATH THE SURFACE, published in 2006 by Siren Publishing, Inc.

4.0 out of 5 stars Two books in one., June 10, 2008
This review is from: Sisters of Emsharra: Guardian Seductress : Predator's Salvation (Paperback)
Guardian Seductress (Book One)

Kalika Enlil had been a skilled sorceress, stronger in mind and body than the average Inanna. The Inanna are an ancient and superior race of beings that survive on the energy and life-force of humans. Had Kalika followed law, she would have gone far. Instead, Kalika was working to change the old ways. Kalika believed that if she gave birth to a human's son, his very existence may end the border wars between the Inanna of Emsharra and their enemy, the Sebiter of Gaiam. Her child could end the indiscriminate, unnecessary killing and enslavement of the humans. Her child would be the beginning of a new regime and a solution to the human conservation issue. If all continued as in the past, there would soon be no humans left.

Genesis "Gen" Enki had promised Kalika to watch after her son. Gen barely escaped with the new born before Kalika was arrested - only moments after giving birth. For twenty-eight years Gen watched over Alex. Alex had been adopted by Glenn Ryan and now resides in New York City. But the Inanna have found them. It is pure luck that Alex does not die in the assassination attempt. His father, Glenn, does though. The time has come to tell Alex about his heritage. Gen's main problem is her attraction to the now very adult Alex.

Alex Ryan has known since he was six-years-old that he was different from everyone else. He has enough to deal with just being a telepath. Now this hot woman is telling him that he is not even fully human. Half of his being is some sort of succubus and energy vampire combo. Alex soon finds out that being a hybrid is not so bad after all. He has several untapped powers, such as shapeshifting. Gen says he has "spirit-boost" within him too. It is a rare, regenerative component which is coveted by Inanna and Sebitu alike for its aphrodisiacal qualities. It also makes him even more of a target, according to his hot Amazonian bodyguard.

**** An erotica with a decent plot! This is a rare find; therefore, I want to make sure that fans of the Erotica genre know about this title. The next book, also given within the same cover, begins one year after this one ends, but with different main characters and problems. ****

Predator's Salvation (Book Two)

Twenty-four-year-old Mateo Diaz's fantasy woman could never be a human. He wanted a dangerous type of female, like the one who had killed his parents and brother. But that particular woman existed only in his nightmares. Mateo is en route to the home of Alex Ryan for some sort of special meeting when he finds himself abducted by a woman with wings. In Mateo's mind, the woman is like an Amazonian dominatrix and he admits to himself that the very thought is enticing. However, he is not so happy to find himself shackled and informed that he is now her property.

LeMia "Mia" Enlil is an exiled premier huntress of Emsharra. She may be Inanna, but she rejects the Alliance and New Regime. The human male, Mateo, is to be a pawn in her game of vengeance against Alex and Genesis. However, slowly Mia finds herself enjoying her new slave too much and unknown emotions begin to form within her. But since she is responsible for the death of Mateo's family, there is no way the man would forgive her...not that she wanted his forgiveness, of course.

Mateo's body could not decide whether to hate the alien or love her. He shockingly realizes he ceased to be unwilling at some point of his captivity. He is further shocked to realize his mind no longer lingers on thoughts of escape. As for Mia, Mateo ceased to be a pawn the minute he had swapped energy with her and had survived it with minimal physical damage. As the two try to figure out what is happening between them, others are tracking their location. One set of people has hopes of rescuing Mateo before Mia kills him. The other tracker wants to kill Mia, Mateo, and their potential rescuers.

**** Be warned of S&M in these two stories. No one under the age of seventeen should read these tales either. That said let me say that BOTH stories actually have decent plots. The backgrounds of the main characters are not fully developed, but more than enough is told so that I, as the reader, felt that I understood what motivates each character. By including Ryan and Gen in the second story, the author made the situation a bit more believable to me. All-in-all, I highly recommend this book to fans of erotica. And do not worry if any alien terms confuse you, a glossary of terms is at the end of the book - but I never needed to use it even once. Fantastic! ****

4.0 out of 5 stars This book was full of almost non-stop action., December 31, 2008
Genesis is entrusted with the duty of watching over her friend Kalika's half-human son. Twenty-eight years later finds her still on earth protecting him, unbeknownst to Alex. When she shows up after his father's funeral and explains his heritage, he initially questions her sanity. After he sees proof of her claims, Alex has to accept that he is the cambion and that his life is in danger. Genesis fights to protect him from the insurgents. She thinks that the only way to protect him is to take him to Emsharra and enlist the help of the Quna. Will she be able to keep him safe in the meantime?

It had an interesting premise. Alex and Genesis were strong characters and I enjoyed learning about them. I would have liked to have had more background about Genesis's race and how Alex's mother, Kalika, and his father met. This book was full of almost non-stop action. Even though the book was ladled with scorching sex scenes, I thought they were tastefully done and not too over the top. The book also had a nice balance of storyline versus sex scenes, which made for a great read as well. If you enjoy reading paranormal books about races from other dimensions, you may want to pick up Guardian Seductress by Gracie C. McKeever.

4.0 out of 5 stars Imaginative & Convincing, December 19, 2007
By
This review is from: Sisters of Emsharra: Guardian Seductress : Predator's Salvation (Paperback)
Broken up into two separate books detailing the adventures - or misadventures - of each, Sisters Of Emsharra chronicles the exploits of Genesis Enki and LaMia Enlil, members of opposing mystical clans with their own agendas for justice, retribution, and ultimate redemption.

In Book 1: Guardian Seductress, the reader is granted access to the valiant efforts of Genesis. Her ultimate goal: ensuring the protection of Alex Ryan, son of her dear friend Kalika, a casualty herself of the warring Inanna & Sebitu clans. What makes Alex's survival so crucial is the rare and highly sought-after "spirit-boost" that flows through his veins, coveted by the otherworldly beings for its power and potential. Complicating matters for Genesis, though, is the fact that, as a human being, Alex is the natural prey for her species - thus, essential for their own survival - and it only confuses her more to find herself falling helplessly in love with him...

Book 2: Predator's Salvation, sheds revelatory light on LaMia's sinister dealings. Bitter with Genesis for thwarting her efforts to compromise Alex, LaMia resorts to trickery in enslaving Mateo, Alex's friend and protégée, in bringing her nefarious plot to fruition. Her efforts may soon prove to be in vain, though, as she soon discovers that the sheer force of her will - no matter how menacingly she imposes it - may not be enough to stave off the inevitable...

For its unique appeal and pure imaginativeness, Sisters Of Emsharra shines as a well-crafted fantasy with enough verve and excitement to go around. McKeever continues to impress with compelling stories featuring strong characters that push the narrative along with aplomb. The world of erotic fantasy thrillers is certainly richer for having Sisters Of Emsharra as its latest standout addition.
