Beautiful Anna Lawrence, with a successful career in broadcasting and marriage to a wealthy man with a luxurious country home, has everything a thirty-two year old could wish for. In contrast, her younger sister Becky lives in a dilapidated house in south London, contending with a struggling would-be chef for a husband, an uninspiring job, and a moody eleven-year-old stepdaughter. Yet ever since the sudden death of their father twenty years ago, Anna has been Becky's support, acting as the peace maker in her stormy relationship with their mother, and counselling her through the traumas of a life that has always appeared charmless and problematic in comparison to her own. About the Author
Amanda Brookfield gained a First Class Honours Degree from Oxford before working at an advertising agency for several years. She wrote her first novel while living in Buenos Aires with her diplomat husband, and her second while in Washington, D.C. She has two young sons and now lives in London and divides her time between writing fiction and looking after her family.
