Book Description

Four life-long friends face the biggest changes of their lives.

Four sisters—not related by blood—but by spirit, each embark on a quest

Four women find out what they’re truly made of, and what love really means.

In “New View” by Lynn Jenssen, a couple’s vow of “for better or worse” is tested to the max under the threat of overwhelming work stress, and marital misunderstandings. But when a danger threatens to tear them apart for good, they face their biggest trial of all.

In “Identity” by Christine Mazurk, a young woman embarks on a complete life-change after losing more than 100 pounds, and through a twist of fate finds herself training for a marathon under the guidance of a super sexy coach. But when she starts falling for the hunky trainer, can she trust her new-found confidence to take her to the finish line?

In “Shaman’s Shell” by Jeanine Duval Spikes, a spunky young woman finds a mystical Native American artifact that could change the course of an archeologist’s career. He wants what she’s got. She doesn’t know if she can trust him. But as an attraction builds between them, the mysterious artifact propels them to discover what they both truly need.

In “Moving Pictures” by Annette Blair, a down-but-never-out woman lands a much-needed job working for one of the top advertising agencies in the country. Her boss is an award-winning exec whose focus has been solely on work for the past few years, to the exclusion of everything else. She doesn’t know why, and he isn’t prepared to tell her. The more reclusive he is, the more determined she is to draw him out, but how can she fight the haunting ghosts of his past?

5.0 out of 5 stars Celebrating the Power of Love January 16, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
I loved this book for several reasons. First I love an anthology and this one is one of the best. The stories are woven together really well so that it is almost like one author yet there are four distinct and unique voices. The stories are sweet, funny, mystical and touching. Second: The romances are wonderful however the relationshp between the sisters and the idea of making a family out of your friends is really on point for today. Finally I loved the setting on an island off the coast of New England, the hidden cove and the idea of a place where the physical world and the spiritual world connects.

Four friends gather on an island off the coast of New England. They call themselves Sisters of Spirit because although they are not related they have a bond that makes them feel connected even when apart. Together they discover a new place on the island that has a spiritual connection and each one finds an object that plays a role in the discovery of their destiny. With connections to both the puritain and native american residents of the area Sisters of Spirit suggests that our past, even long past, does influence our future and the power of love crosses time.

I HIGHLY reccomend this book. I have a new story from a favorite author plus three new favorites!

4.0 out of 5 stars Each story has a synopsis, star rating, and review. February 7, 2013

Prologue by Annette Blair
Centuries ago, four ladies wash up on a beach in a hidden cove. Though not biologically related, these four consider themselves to be Sisters of Spirit (SOS) and have been there for each other through thick and thin. As the group's eyes peek through a tide pool, the ladies get a glimpse of other SOS groups.

New View by Lynn Jenssen

Marina Simms and her husband, Cameron, have been wed for seven years. Currently Cam is the only trained Network Engineer for his work place; however, another Engineer has recently been hired. Until Phil DeMeo is fully trained, Cam still has to work long hours, travel with little-to-no notice, and be on-call for emergencies. Marina understands that Cam is under a lot of stress and exhausted by nightfall, yet she is hopeful that once Phil is trained things will get better. When Marina begins having flashes of visions (much like viewing snapshots of the future) she starts to become concerned for the health of her marriage.

An SOS is sent out by one of Marina's close friends. She and her three Sisters of Spirit drop everything and travel to Munnatawket Island for a gathering. No one admits to sending out the SOS, but it has come at a good time. Each of the ladies needs the comfort and support of her Sisters of Spirit.

**** THREE & A HALF STARS! Of the four friends, Marina's personal life is the rosiest. (No pun intended toward the rose-colored sunglasses that she found on the beach of Hidden Cove.) This tale introduces the four ladies to the reader and paints the setting. Basically, it sets the foundation upon which all four stories are built.

A co-worker is one of the authors and I have been anxiously awaiting publication! Sisters of Spirit is terrific. Each writer has a different style but I felt like I was experiencing their lives with them and I wanted to go to the Island! I highly recommend reading Sisters of Spirit.

Bought it because I love Annette's books but I really enjoyed the other stories as well. My only complaint is that they're short stories and I always want to read more about the characters!

Four Sisters of Spirit is a wish I would send to all of us. The story of 4 very different women that hold each other close to their heart and can feel when one of them needs the others. All have different stories and problems but when they come together, physically or in cyber space, they close ranks and the magic starts working. You'll find yourself longing for relationships such as these women and wishing you had an island where you could gather and just write and share.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent July 18, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Honestly, the prologue almost put me off. But then, I started the actual stories. Each was a complete story about one Sister, although all four had the Sisters coming together seamlessly. I am awestruck that our authors' styles blended so I couldn't tell when one stopped and the other began. I couldn't put it down and finished the last two books in one sitting. I will read these stories again to feel the oneness, calm and connection. A wonderful read.

Excellent how the four stories worked together! I especially liked how the island seemed to be the "magical" place for all stories.
