A Great Stockpot!
This is a wonderful stockpot. I use it for small soups, large amounts of pasta, sauces, and making stock. The magnum pro line is well built and the copper disc does a great job of distributing heat. Inferior Quality and Sitram Poor Customer Service
After 6 months of use, the handle holder on the lid came off due to fatigue at welding joints. Since the other pieces also uses spot welding at the handle, I'm fearful for my safety and contacted Sitram Customer Support. This is a wonderful stockpot. I use it for small soups, large amounts of pasta, sauces, and making stock. The magnum pro line is well built and the copper disc does a great job of distributing heat. I got the 6.7 quart stockpot after getting the 11 quart. It's versatile and the kind of pot I take out on a weekly basis and for some medium-sized cooking jobs. It performs remarkably well, distributing the heat and not scorching soups. On my electric stove (not my stove of choice) it responds very quickly to even the slightest change in temperature. I have to imagine this pot would simply sing on a gas stove.BEWARE: You will not receive a lid when you purchase this item (another great Amazon photograph); Amazon will not be able to provide you with a lid. Right now you can find a replacement lid on chefsresource (you can figure out the address on your own). You'll be looking for the "9.4" Lid for Sitram Catering". The Magnum Pro and Catering line are very similar, one of the big differences being that catering comes without lids. I had the 11.2 quart stockpot that came with a lid that fits the 6.7, but not having the lid would be a hassle. Lid aside, this item is a steal and I expect that it will last me the rest of my cooking life.

"While we have the ability to authorize replacement for the defective products that have handles coming off, we are unable to satisfy a request to credit other product that has not shown signs of being defective" In otherwords, they're not surprised the product is defective and I'm not the only one complaining. If I'm stupid enough to buy a whole set, then I'll have to return each item as it falls apart. Too bad if the defective will maim me in the process. Stay away from this defective and inferior product if you value your health and safety. BTW, I contacted Amazon Customer Service and they agreed to accept the return. Love Amazon. |
