Sitram France has produced professional grade cookware for over 40 years. It is favored by many of the world's top executive chefs and restaurants. We're glad to have Sitram available in the U.S.
Why do so many professionals around the world favor Sitram cookware? Sitram cookware is made in France, designed for commercial use. The factory is fully aware of the highest expectations that executive chefs place in their equipment, and continuously works with them to provide nothing but the best. Why would you want professional cookware? Oh, where do we start! How about "these pots and pans are virtually indestructible as well as dishwasher safe"?
To pour drip-free, simply push the lever. Releasing the lever re-seals it. For easy filling and cleaning, the attached lid opens all the way.
Both lines offered here, Catering and Profiserie, are made of highest quality 18/10 stainless steel to guarantee even heat distribution. Since the base is composed of three thick layers of sturdy metal, they will never warp, yet Sitram cookware heats up quickly and retains heat extremely well.
Needless to say, Sitram's surgical-steel grade material won't discolor or alter the flavor of foods. Users around the world praise how smooth the interior remains even after years of rigid use.
The handles are multiple spot welded to provide superior durability and easy cleaning. The lids feature a small hole to vent: While it keeps liquids and flavors in, it lets just a tiny amount of steam out so that the lid doesn't vibrate top of a boiling pot. All pots, pans and lids are dishwasher safe, NSF* certified and come with a limited lifetime warranty.
Catering versus Profiserie
Catering boasts a thick copper core sandwiched between two layers of 18/10 stainless steel. Copper allows for a higher cooking temperature, perfectly even heat distribution, and a quick response time to temperature changes.
The grooved handles are the hallmark of commercial-grade cookware.Catering withstands temperatures up to 1800F and can be used on gas, electric, or ceramic stove-tops. Oven-safe (please use oven mitts).
Profiserie has an extra thick aluminum disk sandwiched between 18/10 stainless steel and comes with comfort grip stay-cool tubular handles.
Profiserie can be used on gas, electric, ceramic, or induction stove-tops. Oven-safe (please use oven mitts).
For your convenience, all Sitram pieces are available "open stock". Sitram does not force you into buying cookware sets to include items/sizes you don't need. Get exactly what you need - not more, not less, and enjoy it for a lifetime. Let Sitram become your trusted partner in your kitchen. Bon Appétit!

Convenient size for small jobs
Pour spouts for righties & lefties
Thick base for even heating
Generous slot in handle for hanging
Works great with induction!
I haven't really found any, though I suppose the uninsulated handle would get hot if you put the pot in the oven. But so would an insulated one.
I had also ordered a teakettle for use with the induction stove, but while waiting for that to arrive I used this pot to heat my water and decided to cancel the teakettle. At the 1800 watt setting, ten ounces of water in this pot boils in 90 seconds. I can wait 90 seconds tidying the kitchen. I'll be using this pot for my teawater instead of having another piece of equipment to maintain.
I'll be ordering more Sitram in the near future.
I must mention that the pan is very easy to clean up as well. I've had a friend burn soup in it and I myself have burnt the pan when I forgot to check in on heating leftovers. Both times, boiling lemon peels and baking soda in water did the trick and the pan was shiny and like-new without any stains. I highly recommend the pan. If good kitchen equipment gives you joy :) you won't regret the purchase.
This pot is a little lighter than my other pots, but it heats quite evenly (though I've only used it for a few sauces and other precision tasks).
For what it's worth, it seems very well constructed.
In general, the best thing about Sitram is the very large range of available sizes and shapes, all of which have the right sized lid that can be bought separately (or not). Calphalon is another option at this price range and I like their clear lids, but they are much heavier which for me is a minus.

I wish the spout was wider, but it gets 4 stars because there is a spout on each side. The narrow spout requires controlled (slow) pouring. Read morePublished 10 months ago by Cathy Starr
The pot is stable but the handle gets overly hot and doesn't appear that strong.Published 13 months ago by Stephen Kaplan

At first glance, I was disappointed with the saucepan because of its light weight construction. One of my favorites now. It's easy to use and perfect for people with weak hands. Read morePublished 17 months ago by chriszyarden
I just received this today (I see the price has suddenly jumped almost twenty dollars, glad I got it for $43)

Great pan, great price. Heats up quickly (very), cleans up fast. Bought it for sugar syrup, problems with crystallization in hard anodized pan, this one is perfect.Published on January 22, 2014 by AUDIO
Good brand made in france, don't bother with the lid. I did and boy am I sorry. it is so dinky and isn't even level so it does noting for sealing the pan at all..Published on December 16, 2013 by Wallingford
