Product Description

Sitram

Sitram logo Made in France

Sitram France has produced professional grade cookware for over 40 years. It is favored by many of the world's top executive chefs and restaurants. We're glad to have Sitram available in the U.S.

Chef Saucepans

Why do so many professionals around the world favor Sitram cookware? Sitram cookware is made in France, designed for commercial use. The factory is fully aware of the highest expectations that executive chefs place in their equipment, and continuously works with them to provide nothing but the best. Why would you want professional cookware? Oh, where do we start! How about "these pots and pans are virtually indestructible as well as dishwasher safe"?

There's more:

To pour drip-free, simply push the lever. Releasing the lever re-seals it. For easy filling and cleaning, the attached lid opens all the way.

Both lines offered here, Catering and Profiserie, are made of highest quality 18/10 stainless steel to guarantee even heat distribution. Since the base is composed of three thick layers of sturdy metal, they will never warp, yet Sitram cookware heats up quickly and retains heat extremely well.

Needless to say, Sitram's surgical-steel grade material won't discolor or alter the flavor of foods. Users around the world praise how smooth the interior remains even after years of rigid use.

The handles are multiple spot welded to provide superior durability and easy cleaning. The lids feature a small hole to vent: While it keeps liquids and flavors in, it lets just a tiny amount of steam out so that the lid doesn't vibrate top of a boiling pot. All pots, pans and lids are dishwasher safe, NSF* certified and come with a limited lifetime warranty.

Catering versus Profiserie
Catering
Catering set

Catering boasts a thick copper core sandwiched between two layers of 18/10 stainless steel. Copper allows for a higher cooking temperature, perfectly even heat distribution, and a quick response time to temperature changes.

The grooved handles are the hallmark of commercial-grade cookware.Catering withstands temperatures up to 1800F and can be used on gas, electric, or ceramic stove-tops. Oven-safe (please use oven mitts).

Profiserie
profiserie set

Profiserie has an extra thick aluminum disk sandwiched between 18/10 stainless steel and comes with comfort grip stay-cool tubular handles.

Profiserie can be used on gas, electric, ceramic, or induction stove-tops. Oven-safe (please use oven mitts).

For your convenience, all Sitram pieces are available "open stock". Sitram does not force you into buying cookware sets to include items/sizes you don't need. Get exactly what you need - not more, not less, and enjoy it for a lifetime. Let Sitram become your trusted partner in your kitchen. Bon Appétit!

This is not my first piece of sitram. I keep adding on because I love this cookware! Easy to clean, works great on my gas stove and heats evenly. This small saucepan is great for just melting butter and making my marinades for my meats and seafood. I highly recommend sitram cookware. I do have other high quality cookware but I always seem to pull out the sitram.

I ordered this nifty little number for its pouring spouts and to use with my new induction cooktop.

Pro:
Convenient size for small jobs
Pour spouts for righties & lefties
Thick base for even heating
Generous slot in handle for hanging
Works great with induction!

Cons:
I haven't really found any, though I suppose the uninsulated handle would get hot if you put the pot in the oven. But so would an insulated one.

I had also ordered a teakettle for use with the induction stove, but while waiting for that to arrive I used this pot to heat my water and decided to cancel the teakettle. At the 1800 watt setting, ten ounces of water in this pot boils in 90 seconds. I can wait 90 seconds tidying the kitchen. I'll be using this pot for my teawater instead of having another piece of equipment to maintain.

I'll be ordering more Sitram in the near future.

I brought this on Amazon and I use it everyday to boil milk for Indian tea on my electric stove. I am happy with this purchase. I like the spout....that was the main reason I bought this.

Like the previous review, I mostly use this for making tea with milk. I wanted something that was easy to pour and easy to clean. This fits the bill. I was amazed at how much difference the spout makes -- it's much faster to pour and I haven't spilled anything since I got the pot.

This pot is a little lighter than my other pots, but it heats quite evenly (though I've only used it for a few sauces and other precision tasks).

For what it's worth, it seems very well constructed.

My mom would always complain that my American saucepans weren't easy for to pour chai - a staple in most Indian households when parents visit from India :-) So I searched Amazon and even though this saucepan is kind of pricey, I love it. It heats evenly and is great for making 2 - 3 cups of chai. The best part is how easy it is to pour the steaming hot chai into the strainer. The spouts on either side make it easy for both left- and right-handed folks to pour. The pan is also beautifully constructed. It has a nice heft to it, but isn't overly heavy and the handle is riveted onto the body which means there's no need to tighten screws.

I must mention that the pan is very easy to clean up as well. I've had a friend burn soup in it and I myself have burnt the pan when I forgot to check in on heating leftovers. Both times, boiling lemon peels and baking soda in water did the trick and the pan was shiny and like-new without any stains. I highly recommend the pan. If good kitchen equipment gives you joy :) you won't regret the purchase.

I am gradually replacing my old cookware with Sitram and am very pleased with this smaller saucepan. It is perfect for making hot chocolate and for heating up smaller servings of soups. I bought this particular pan for the pourable spout. So far, so good.

I just received this today (I see the price has suddenly jumped almost twenty dollars, glad I got it for $43)
and have used it only once, for heating milk. There's something very nice about it---I am primed to
like it. The spouts pour cleanly, the pot looks nice, there isn't the annoying interior rivet to clean around,
the milk heated quickly, and the light weight is actually a relief compared to most of the pots and
pans I've been getting lately. So far, so good.
