Product Description

Amazon.com

Known for his chart-topping single "I Wanna Be a Baller," rapper Lil' Troy can't convince the world that he's foremost a rapper and not just a drug dealer. Sittin' Fat Down South is 14 tracks about the drug life and the struggle to survive it. Guest appearances by southern rappers Scarface and Willie D make the album bearable, as does "Small Time," the album's excellently produced high point featuring a beautiful soprano voice sample, horn, and hard-hitting drums. Sittin' Fat fails, not because of its single-minded subject matter, but because it lacks musical ideas. The album is mostly keyboards with little variation in played or sampled riffs, so almost every song sounds the same. But if you're looking for something with a lot of bass to bump in your system, then Lil' Troy will satisfy your cravings. --Kenji Jasper

I just recently bought Lil' Troy's new cd the other day, cuz i thought "wanna be a baller" was tight as hell!!!! But as i listened to each track...i noticed that the whole cd is of the hook!!! Every song on the cd is loaded with PHAT beats and lyrically mastered. my personal favorite is track 7 "Still a Bitch" that song is funny as hell......i recomend this CD to anyone and everyone....

I bought this cd because of the song wanna be a baller, but when I listened to the whole cd I found that this was rap people like. I like every song on the cd even know Lil Troy hardly sings at all, but the other artists turned this album into a sweet A** cd!

I bought this CD because of WANNA BE A BALLER. Unfortunately, that's the only decent song on the album. All the other songs have weak production and some whack lyrics. These guys have no talent...talk about your one hit wonders. I couldn't even listen to most of the songs. After 20 seconds or so, I'd just skip to the next one, hoping for something that would rescue the album. Nothing did. The production was so bad it was scary and there was nothing in the vocals to make up for it. What a waste of my money.

"Wanna be a Balla" is definately a good cut but there is only maybe one or two other good songs on the CD, if there is a single released just grab that and save your money.

This CD deserves to go platinum or even multi-platinum. Many MCs depend on hype and publicity by the media to succeed, but not this one. Lil' Troy has done it in this CD. Frankly speaking, I don't know the hell is Lil' Troy when I bought this CD. But when I popped it into my CD player, WHAT THE HELL, THIS ALBUM IS TIGHT OF THE TIGHT. Every joint is awesome and the lyrics are dope. The beats are hot and bouncy and you can bring the CD with you for a long ride and still feel refreshed at the end of the journey. I'll definitely bring this CD with me on my next business trip. Peace out.

Some people just like West Coast Funk, East Coast Rythm, Down South Blazen Beats, this was none of the above, this CD is not orginized at all, and Lil' Troy is in like 3 of the songs, if you like rappers like Noreaga, DMX, Kurupt, Dre, and Tash just don't go near this CD it's not meant for you, i learned that when i purchased it the backround music, the rapping it's just not for the true rap fan....
