This is southern American music as record companies found it. It's community based and reflects it's entire community. "Progress" would later determine some music to be "black" and some to be "white", apparently for marketing purposes. With our 21st century sensibilities it can be quite a shock to hear fiddle and guitar music with that funk touch and to realize that southern musicians played southern music and "blues singers" were a marketing image created by record companies.
