4.0 out of 5 stars Review For Situations, November 18, 2004
By
Yonnice G (Brooklyn Park, MN) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Situations (Paperback)
I really enjoyed this book. The storyline was great and believable; as in this could really happen. I felt the characters, as in they had a face and a name. Some of the books I have read in the pass, it was hard to know who was speaking or that person weren't given a name. In Situations, everyone had a name and a voice.

As far as the main characters, my favorite was Dominquic. She proved that she was a strong woman and deeply cared about her friends and her family. Vickie was someone that grew on me as the book went on. She is wild, but finds her way towards the end. Trisha, I didn't too much care for her. She was selfish and evil.

I have to say that the only thing I didn't like about the book, were the typos. Other than that, I definitely recommend this book to everyone. I can't wait for the sequel. Great job!

4.0 out of 5 stars Situations Review, November 9, 2004
By
This review is from: Situations (Paperback)
My review on this book overall I'd say this brook was one of the better books I have read, the storyline was great, and the characters were so real that you can almost see them as real people, and from an guys point of view. I think that every guy who wants to get to know how females think, you should read this book, because this book gives a guy a little more understanding on how females think.

As for all the character, each of them had there own personality. There were three main character three females Dominique, Vickie, and Trisha. Dominique I like because she was an strong woman who had her head on straight, even when life brought her some situation that was too hard to handle, she was determined to not let those situations bring her and her daughter down.

Vickie I felt for her. Because she was a wild child as they call some people who is just out there and like to experiments with life. She had a good head on her shoulders; she have done some dirt in her life and you know they say, you rip what you sow, As a payback for not calling one of her lover back, she got pregnant by somebody else baby daddy and was on her own when it came to for help. But I think that made her a stronger woman.

Trisha, I really didn't care for as much as the other two characters. Simply because I think she was more into her self then people around her. I think she was kinda spoiled, and selfish, because all she cared about was her feelings and nobody else, until her husband was killed in the plane crash. Then she start to feel sorry for what she did but I think the way she shows that was selfish, because by the time it came to his Will, she thought she should have everything, but my opinion it should be the decease last wishes. But she was a strong woman in her own way.

Overall I give this brook the rating for 4 Star, because the storyline was wonderful and the book kept me wanting more, see what happen in these situation.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good Read, October 30, 2004
This review is from: Situations (Paperback)
I really enjoyed reading this book. It was an easy reader to me. I believe by the time her second book is out she will have grown into a wonderful writer. Congratulations to Shawnta, I hope I have the pleasure of reading many books to come. On a scale of 1-5, I give her a 3.5; there are some kinks that need to be worked out but other than that great job.
