Review
As a story of the expatriate life, the book is very enjoyable. The imaginative storyline and the detail, both of Kuwait and the expat 'lifestyle' along with the drama and action elements, make this book so interesting. --

Publisher, Vet-NetUSA, Jun 1999This is the best adventure fiction, with just enough love thrown in, that we have seen for a long time. We literally could not put this book down till the last page. If you are looking for an excellent read, this in the one. --

From the Author
We have lived a fascinating life during our time abroad, and it is because of this that
Six Faces came into being. The world is much smaller than we imagine when we travel around in it and begin to meet all the amazing people who are our fellow travelers. A fishing trip in the Sierra Cazorla Mountains of Spain started it all. A colorful military retiree with some time on his hands and a unique past told us about how he made a fortune playing craps with a partner during the 1970's in private games. His story was so intriguing that we began to research the probability math and discovered that indeed what he told us was possible. A fortune could be made.
About the same time the Persian Gulf War began. We had a friend whose parents were engineers living and working in Kuwait City. Their dramatic escape at the onset of the invasion and the stories they told us afterward about the devastation they witnessed gave us the idea of combining the two themes into one. During this same period of time the American base where we were living came alive with Desert Storm soldiers coming and going to Kuwait. We were able to talk to some of them first hand about their experiences in the conflict. And so...SIX FACES was born. Our characters are fictional, but the story is based on facts we collected by interviewing the Marines, the engineers and others.
We invite all who thrive on adventure, those who love to travel, our Assyrian, Marine and expatriate friends, and especially those of you who love a good game, to get to know Mason Hancock, Sam Jones, his wife Younia, their daughter Tania, Australian Ambassador Scott and his daughter, Jennifer. They are the human equation of SIX FACES. Together with the six faces of the dice, they forge a winning combination of wit, bravery, laughter and love in the Middle East.
