HOURS of fun....I LOVE THIS GAME!!!!,
By
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Six Flags Fun Park (Video Game)
Let me start off by saying...I LOVE THIS GAME!!! I love ameusment parks in general, and have tried Carnival Games (LOVE IT) and WonderWorld Amusement Park (HATED)...so I gave this one a try. At first I was a little iffy about it, but once I got into it, I loved it! I love the ADVENTURE mode, doing all the tasks...trying to gain more "stuff". Some of the missions are extremely easy to mildy challenging. But there are so many it seems as if it will take forever to complete them all!! The main "story" is to open up Funville part of the park, and let me tell you (without giving too much away) as soon as I was able to open that land, all of a sudden my missions have gotten really hard!! And I love it!! (Right now I neeed to find someone who used to be a sports star so they can get their picture taken...I for the life of me cannot figure who that is!!).
Please know before buying that you can just walk around and play the mini games if you want...but the main draw is the missions you need to do...and that can take hours of your time. I swear I play and dont even realize that I was playing for HOURS...I have to force myself to put down my remote and spend time w/ the family!!!! I myself enjoy all the mini games, some alot more than others. The graphics are great, I laugh at the gibberish talk (why so many people complain about mundain stuff boggles my mind) and the story line is alot of fun. Definitaly recomend if you have the time!!!

Fun Park Not Very Fun for Adults,

I purchased this mainly because the positive reviews touted the game as fun for all ages. As a thirtysomething adult, I thought that since amusement park and carnival games are still fun to me, the simulations on this game would be too. I was wrong.
I've given "Fun Park" about five attempts across two weeks now, and here are four aspects of it that are not fun: (1) absurdly long loading time for starting and quitting games. The wait time for a game to load is sometimes longer than it takes to play the actual game (2) The "over 40 thrilling games" are so similar, that claiming 40 different games is misleading and calling them thrilling is clearly a stretch (i.e. you've played about three, and you've pretty much played them all) (3) software freezes while saving data, causing you to need to reboot the Wii console in order to restart the game; you will lose data, time, and "fun" during the reboot (4) Guiding your character around the park is a slow and tedious process. There are dead ends everywhere, and the "hidden surprises" you'll find basically consist of the same three activities over and over and over again. Maybe kids will enjoy "Fun Park" more than I did. However, in my experience, children have an even slower attention span than adults. I imagine the long loading time, freezing software, and repetitiveness would bore them at least as much as I was.

This game is *really* fun.
At first blush, you'd figure it's just a kid's game, but the humor in this game is top notch. It's like going into a Pixar film expecting a kids movie and laughing out loud many times throughout! The minigames are a lot of fun, too, and a lot of the humor comes out even in the concepts for the games. My favorite is Alien Slime Attack -- you slime little kids with a slime gun so an alien can run over and eat them! (It sounds a lot darker than it is -- the whole game is very tongue-in-cheek and absolutely hilarious. Just wait until you see the "Bunny of the Night"!) Seriously, check out this game. It's loads of fun.

Unlike the first guy to review and expected a cheap ticket to Six Flags. I actually played the game and enjoyed it very much. After two hours and still into the game... I had to pry myself away to get some Zzzzzzz's.

Finally! A Wii game that delivers what we want!,

Fun Park is way more than a Minigame collection... its whole little world to explore. In Adventure mode you create a character and interact with a whole crazy theme park. You do little missions for characters which reveal alot of little funny stories. Its pretty entertaining and relaxing to run around doing little goofy quests for people which usually involve winning certain prizes and beaten certain scores in the Park's games.
The Multiplayer is excellent because there are over 30 different 4 player games to compete in. You can queue up a match of 10 games or select a bunch with a "random" button. It makes for a great party game... way better than any other party game on the Wii. It has a fun and unique art style and a truly good sense of humor. Great for kids, parents, and the simple RPG elements and minigame challenges make it good for gamers too.

I hate violent games and wanted something for the Wii that wasn't sports oriented. We actually got this for the Multiplayer thinking it would be fun to play the carnival type games. However my husband and I both got hooked on the Adventure game and cannot put it down - we actually have to time ourselves or we don't stop playing until the other makes us!
There are a few mini-games that are hard to beat (Martin Blast) but one of the tasks requires you to beat a certain score or bring back a prize that requires a certain score. I thought I would never beat it but after 50 or so tries I finally did and that was rewarding:) Walking back and forth to do missions can be aggravating when you keep getting lost and not all things are on the map - a few shortcuts between parks would have been nice. And the garbage and weeds you pick-up/pull reappear so you don't have a way to track where you have been - but then again you can still get coins/tickets when you pick-up/pull them again. And although you have already checked something (tree, trashcan) somethings don't get "put-in" until you reach the mission so you will have to check it again. I try to do all the little tasks (collecting souvenirs, prizes, planting) as I am on my way to do missions. Sometimes it saves you alot of running... Still very fun addictive game if you are looking for a slow paced adventure where your character is not trying to be killed or mutilated!

Fun and Frustrating,

Overall, we really enjoy this game, especially the Adventure style of this game. Most of the missions are challenging without being too complicated. There are several activities that keep you busy along the way (picking up trash, pulling weeds, etc.) that also allow you earn tickets and coins. There is interaction with other characters, which especially has meaning when you are on a mission. Most of the games you have to perform during a mission are relatively easy, and don't require a perfect score to take you to the next level. The multiplayer mode is also entertaining. This is strictly game play (competition) and the rules and actions for the games are easy to understand and perform.
However...there are also some issues that make this game frustrating to play. One of my biggest complaints is with the responsiveness of the controls during game play. In the Adventure mode, the rules/actions for the arcade games are not always clear and require experience to determine actual play methods. Also in Adventure mode, there is a lot of unnecessary walking around and interaction with characters. The jibberish speaking can also be annoying; I recommend disabling it. Overall, this is a good game, and adults and children alike find it very entertaining.

As an adult, I had a hard time finding a Wii game I liked - I don't really enjoy violent games and there's only so many sports games you can play before you get bored. The alternative, it seemed, was a series of character-based or completely infantile games that were just no fun for me.
Enter Six Flag Fun Park - and it sure is fun!! There are so many different part of the theme park to "explore", fun ways to interact and surprising games, activities and little "errands" to run. The graphics are excellent, the sound effects are good, and the characters are great fun as a general rule. The only downside is that there isn't much in the way of interaction with other "park visitors" and that it's much easier to accumulate tons of tickets for some games than the coins/money needed for others. The only other comment I would make is that, while there is a multiplayer option, it's nowhere near as fun, detailed & interactive as the "adventure" mode. All in all, I think this is a great game for kids or for adults who are looking for good-natured (aka non-violent) fun.
