5.0 out of 5 stars A Book To Read...Again and Again
With most books, you read them, they challenge you or entertain you. You finish the book, put it your book case or donate it to a library.

Not with "Six Hours One Friday".

3.0 out of 5 stars Average for a Lucado book
I read a lot of Christian books. Some stand out and are memorable, some aren't. This one follows in the latter category for me.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Book To Read...Again and Again, June 5, 2006
With most books, you read them, they challenge you or entertain you. You finish the book, put it your book case or donate it to a library.

Not with "Six Hours One Friday".

I purchased this book when it was initially published and read it with more eagerness, more reverence with every turn of a page.

Since then, I have re-read it many, many times. It is a part of my permanent library.

The highlight of my spiritual year is Easter. In humble preparation, every Good Friday I take my "Six Hours One Friday" and go to a place of solitude in a park with a picnic lunch, and for 3 hours (noon to 3PM) read once again what Jesus did for me!

There are no words to describe this intense spiritual event.

Always 'new', always personally meaningful, always incredibly humbling.

You'll read "Six Hours One Friday" again and again

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Book!, August 25, 2006
By

I loved this book and didn't want to put it down as I read it. I was so disappointed when I was done with the book. Max Lucado has a way of reaching people as he writes. It's almost like he is talking to you - a friend. You can FEEL his words and HEAR his words. I enjoyed this book very much.

5.0 out of 5 stars Life Altering..., April 23, 2009
I've not read many religious books and I've never written a review. I found this book to be "life altering". With tears in my eyes I wish to thank Max Lucado for reaching out to me and helping me onto the right path. I will be reading his other books to nurish my soul and keep me moving in the right direction. I reccomend this book to anyone and everyone. It will leave you feeling loved, grateful and at peace.

I can now face the death of my mother in the next few months with the assured knowledge that she has SO MUCH to look forward to and that we WILL be together again.

5.0 out of 5 stars Be careful of print version, November 26, 2011

I have a hardcover copy of this book, and love it. I wanted to do a Bible study with it with some of my friends, so I ordered five more copies. All the copies I received were of a different print run than the one I owned. The new books were small, and the print in them was too small to read comfortably (we're all old enough to need reading glasses). Just a heads up to those past 50.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Shepherd's Trilogy by Phillip W. Keller, February 4, 2011

Mr. Keller has made Psalm 23 come alive for me. His explanation of this Psalm from a shepherd's viewpoint is easy to read and to understand. This is a good reference for ministers to use in preparations for sermons.

This review is from: Six Hours One Friday: Living in the Power of the Cross (Chronicles of the Cross) (Paperback)
A very touching, heart felt story of why Jesus died for you and for me, a very good, inspiring story. Max is so good at writing, I enjoy his books very much!

It is hard to imagine the world was changed forever in just six hours on a Friday. Nothing special about that day at its beginning, but the ending changed history. I would recommend reading "And the Angels Were Silent" first. It covers the whole week.

anything written my max lucado gets the same exact rating from me. I have read seven of his books and, in all of them, he spiritually hits it out of the park. obviously.... a spirit led man, who is kind enough to share it all with us.

5.0 out of 5 stars A WONDERFUL BOOK, July 16, 2009
I have many of Max's books as well as this one. As always, well written, easy to understand. He gives you an understanding of God that you can't get anywhere else. This one will break your heart - as it should. We all should keep our faith on Jesus and His sacrafice on the Cross!
