Perfectly fine unless you need to lose weight,

This review is from: Six Ingredients or Less: Slow Cooker (Paperback)
I'm all for simple, straightforward, easy recipes, and the ones in this book definitely fit the bill. I like the author's down-home, friendly style. The only problem is, her recipes are very down-home too - they almost seem outdated, as if they were created back in the slow cooker's original heyday, the 1970s or so (actually I think people ate more healthy than this in the 70s). Obviously the author and her family have no weight problems and can eat what they want. The recipes are hearty and easy, but be prepared for lots of full-fat ingredients and everything we're always renovating our recipes for nowadays. I flagged a lot of recipes in this book to make, but only as special treats. I couldn't use this book for daily meals.

Another useful and well written cookbook,

Excellent cookbook using "normal" ingredients that can be found in almost any kitchen. I love being able to put ingredients in the slow cooker and finding a tasty, home cooked meal at the end of the day. The slow cooker is a lifesaver and Carlean Johnson's cookbook is too.

Six Ingredients -or Less, for the Slow Cooker.
When I read the title I wasn't sure whether they already knew that cooking was a limited skill for me (and I was the "slow cooker"), or if the book centered around using a crock pot. The crock pot won! I have bought perhaps ten copies of this book for friends and family all over the world from Washington, D.C. to Kuwait City, Kuwait, to Incheon, Korea. Everyone, without exception, has enjoyed the ease and nutrition of these very simple meals. My favorite, Cabbage and Ground Beef Soup, has always been a winner for the folks I shared it with (Crock pots are good for that). If you have never made anything in a crock pot before, you will be instantly a star as the meals are so simple, anyone can make them successfully. I would recommend this to newly divorced men especially, teachers, folks with two working adults, for teenagers who want to become a bit moreSix Ingredients or Less (Cookbooks and Restaurant Guides) independent and for college kids who may want a break from the local burger shack. It's a blessing.
