This book has great problems for preparing for the Civil PE exam. I did not take the Geotech afternoon portion, so I can not comment on the Depth section of the book. With that said, the breadth questions are very representative of what was on the April 2009 morning session.

Great book to study for the geotechnical part of the PE Exams. However, the solutions are sometimes not very clearly explained and you would have to dig out explanations elsewhere. Nevertheless, for the PE exam this is not usually necessary, as than problems in the book have a level of difficulty a little higher the what you will find in the actual exam.

This book is great. Don't be fooled by the obscure points made in the solutions! The PE Exam is just as obscure, and the problems here will teach you what to look out for. You can't do enough practice problems to prepare yourself.

Helped me pass... on my 2nd try... but still a very VERY useful way to study!
