5.0 out of 5 stars Finally, A No Nonsense Book About How To Get Lean..
I've read every diet fad program out there - Body For Life, Body Rx, South Beach Diet, Atkins, etc, and The Six Pack Diet Plan is by far the most understandable and believable. The author gives all the information to get going on a lifelong nutrition plan - What it takes supplement wise, training wise, AND nutrition wise.

3.0 out of 5 stars "...it is believed..."???
There is good information in this book, but one must sift through the chaff. The essentials could have been condensed down to less than 30 pages. Instead, there is a lot of "fluff," and after the umpteenth use of "it is believed", I started to lose faith in the information in this book. "It is believed" is right up there with "they said" and "I heard"--it is believed...

Instead, there is a lot of "fluff," and after the umpteenth use of "it is believed", I started to lose faith in the information in this book. "It is believed" is right up there with "they said" and "I heard"--it is believed by who? Was there a study done?

If you can get a dirt cheap copy of this, sift through it and it'll be fine.

The book is an easy, but informative read. The author not only outlines the ways to make this diet compatible with your lifestyle, but also analyzes the biological effects your food and exercise has on your body. I have been eating healthier, looking more "ripped", and feeling better about myself since using Rehan Jalali's methods. I definitely recommend to anyone who wants to have a no nonsense diet and exercise plan that works.

5.0 out of 5 stars The two things you need, July 23, 2008
This review is from: The Six-Pack Diet Plan: The Secrets to Getting Lean Abs and a Rock-Hard Body Permanently (Paperback)
There are really two things you get from this book:
1. The scientific basis for how you get to optimal health and:

2. You get a specific plan on how to get there.

You get this from someone who plainly knows his stuff. You get knowledge, then a plan of action.

The author is not long on motivational diatribes and this book will not give you any "you can do it" pep talk that will get you fired up for a few days before you quit the protein and move back to fried foods. The author does suggest ways to sustain your motivation however. His undertaking takes commitment -and as a practical matter, you need to go find that yourself.

The science is plain that you can do it if you really want to and many people Rehan Jalali has worked with (and that you probably see on a regular basis in professional sports, movies and music videos) have proven it over and over again. Just follow the steps, do his diet and workout plan. You will get there.

There are really two six pack diet plans here. The first is for those who are serious about being in good health and having the body they want long term. Another is really a short term body for those posing in magazines or competing to show who looks better with their shirts off.

While Rehan Jalali does not spend too much of the book on the latter category, (what he calls "peaking") this is where his expertise is most visible since you have probably seen a movie with an actor in amazing shape.

What you get from the Six-Pack Diet Plan is a formula for success that you see over and over again in other people, only it's going to happen to you. He makes it plain. Just follow his advice and don't make it more complicated then it is.

Following advice in the book, I have lost over 40 pounds and feel amazing. Notwithstanding the poorly designed book cover, I don't think you could spend $10-15 on anything more valuable at Amazon if you are serious about the way you look and feel.

I have read this fitness gem several times and it is concise, detailed, research based, easy to read, and it works!

Some very interesting and new concepts are mentioned in the book including hormone modification, detailed info on sleep, supplement strategies, and the thermic effect of food, as well as many others. The research supporting the practice of intense, short training sessions mentioned in the book was very useful. This book is a must have for anyone looking to get leaner and healthier permanently. And what I really love about the book is that it is not some fad or quick fix diet, but a real and long term fat loss solution!

Although the book has very specific technical information, I have benifitted from it a lot. I am following the diet as best as I can and following the excercise plan. I have experienced results just after about 2 weeks. I consider this book a treasure.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good read, didn't realize it was "large print", December 30, 2010

Enjoyed this book with good information and researched topics. Only problem with the copy I received was that I had no idea it was in size 16 font! Talk about a surprise, I'm pretty sure that everyone behind me on cardio could read the book as well. Definately purchase, but be careful about the typeface.
